I literally came in here to say this same thing. Castellanos was awesome after the Cubs got him.
-
What I'm saying is I believe the Sox, when all of this is over, should be the odds on favorite for the ALC If not, I wouldn't bet the Twins
-
They are getting a comp pick for Amos that'll 95% be a 4 Gabriel sucks. Wims and Ridley and Patterson will be just fine replacing him
-
I said I don't think the odds are MIN wins the division again

Keuchel to Sox, 3 years, 55.55 million; 4th year team option

Cesar Hernandez- 1 year $6.25M with Cleveland per Passan @fathom -
I disagree Not saying they WILL win it but I'm not sure most people think Minnesota is still the favorite
-
No, they have 3 draft picks before the 5th round Keeping Jackson is iffy right now if you ask me. He was nothing special this year. I'd let him play out next year. They can also extend Robinson & Patterson to save cap space and also they'll be releasing Gabriel and Long to save even more cash Cutting Burton now costs them money so he'll be on the roster next year
-
I mean they do have two 2's to help the OL and about $30M in cap space. Burton should be back although he's a pansy. No way Newton gets 20-25M a year. I don't see it. Even if he did get 3 years, $60M from the Bears they'd probably guarantee 30-40 of it and he'd have 2 years to make this work. There aren't a ton of teams that need QB's- Cincy, Miami, Carolina, Tampa, young guys in GB/NE/MIN/NO maybe- but the latter will go the draft route and the other four will likely do the same. What teams will the Bears be competing against in FA/trades for Newton?
-
He was accurate last season, I'll give you that. I just don't buy it. He's had injury issues and now this foot issue is a mystery. I know "he" got CAR to the playoffs and doesn't throw a lot of picks, but Trubisky "got them" to the playoffs last year too and doesn't throw a lot of picks We'll see. What I will say is I feel like a Newton acqusition would in fact energize the team
-
Besides 2015, find me the other good year I don't need another QB who's inaccurate as all hell
-
He's also had 1 good year in his career & his best attribute might be shot Pass Either sign Bridgewater or go 3-13 next year with the current bum
-
Yeah I can see your point, but the odds that Keenum or Mariota will get them a championship aren't good. I suppose Bridgewater is an option but for $20M a year that likely means a lot of pieces will have to leave- Jackson perhaps, Robinson maybe, Cohen who cares, Patterson could be gone. Plus if they run Trubisky's sorry ass out there and finish 4-12, it'll be a new GM/HC finding that quarterback. Pace loved Mariota, Glennon and Trubisky. If it was him making the 2021 pick I'd be with you, but it'll be a new GM and just by sheer chance he will have a better eye for QB talent than Pace.
-
I'm almost to the point where if they suck ass next year I wouldn't be upset because then they can get Lawrence or Fields
-
They're now 1-5 when the opposition scores over 20. The offense is garbage.
-
I was one of the morons who wanted Trubisky to keep throwing and I thought he could be something. I was an idiot and I admitted so after the Saints game. Last night was another example of his ineptitude. In hockey we call bad players "tomato cans." Trubisky is a tomato can. Nagy may end up being a loser in my eyes but right now it's impossible to judge him, imo. The most important position in sports is QB and he doesn't have one. He missed 2 TD throws last night. He consistently threw short of the line to gain. Media asked yesterday if he had the 4th and 23 back if he'd throw it to a streaking Cohen. He said "yeah sure." The guy is bad. He has no IQ. The Bears need to upgrade their OL but Robinson & Miller are good enough and Montgomery is decent. I fear they go into next year and give Trubisky (and thus Pace and Nagy) a final hurrah because the other options aren't good either (and yay, waste another top 10 D in my lifetime), but I'd also love to see them get creative and get a good QB (Bridgewater?) or just fire Ryan Pace all together

Because apparently minor league baseball is his specialty and that doesn't begin for a few months
-
So attempting to break MLB free agency signings isn't his thing? I would've never guessed
-
I hope he never gets there We should all block and report spam on him on twitter so he goes away
-
He also weighs about 130 pounds I think he was simply saying there's been a ton of baseball success despite "perfect" body type

Like @Chicago White Sox said, if they get Encarnacion and he sucks, in comes Collins. It's not like they'll pay Encarnacion like Machado. They'd have no issue sitting his ass down for Collins if his hitting warrants it -
Or hits the PED's hard like Altuve
