  1. Where did I assume he will suck? I said "if" he sucks. As much as you want to support his final 30 PA's and make fun of Soxtalk for declaring him bad right off the bat, the PA's before the final 30 were greater in number and so he was worse in a larger sample size.
  2. Also love how that emoji was started by WSD to signify news could be coming and every Sox blog and/or fan goof has taken it
  3. Probably because it's time to win. Honestly, I was one of Collins' few backers last year when times got tough, but if Collins sucks this year again, the Sox not only won't be able to use him as a decent chip in a trade package but will once again have a hole at DH. In today's game, it's relatively easy or at least should be relatively easy to find a DH who can get you 30+ homers which is exactly what Encarnacion can do. Also, what does pedigree even mean? All of these guys are accomplished or they wouldn't in the majors.
  4. He really didn't. He was horrendous in July and that's what will bring down his overall second half stats but August and September were good
  5. But you said Hernandez would give them a chance to evaluate Madrigal. You made it sound like you want Madrigal in AAA for another year
  6. Yet if he did that 40/5/5-8 in AAA this year, it doesn't necessarily mean he'll do it in Chicago. I'd bring him up June 1. I'd bring Robert up on May 1.
  7. Traded with Stiever and Madrigal for Betts /sarcasmunfortunately
  8. FWIW Levine also tweeted about the possibility of Encarnacion & the Sox
  9. Assuming Keuchel wears #60 again, he'll join the dbag number crew- Cease (84), Eloy (74), Abreu (79). Here's hoping Robert wears 67 and Madrigal 0
  10. I could end up being incorrect but to me, Ryu seems set on staying west, maybe as far east as Arlington, TX.
  11. Why am I drawing a blank on who NA is? Bilek and Shack say NA is an obvious fit
  12. You literally posted what you did without reading the post.. bro
  13. But if Giolito and Moncada won't take them- which we neither know or don't know- what can Hahn do to address that? Perhaps they want to take their chances by playing it out and striking it super rich? The answer is nothing.
  14. Exactly, and for that reason and inflation and many others, I think it's premature to discuss December 2026 right now. Like seriously, what the hell is the point of this? If Moncada is consistently a 950 OPS guy with good D & Giolito is a true ace, that'll be a great problem to have. We also have no clue if Giolito and/or Moncada have been approached about an extension. Maybe they said no last year. Maybe they said no this year. Either way Eloy shouldn't be punished because the others won't take an extension. He's going to be a great, great hitter. If Robert and Moncada are awesome- let's say arguably two of the top 20 players in all of baseball- that'll be great. Most GM's couldn't pay two guys like that.
  15. 18.5M in 2026 for a great hitter is going to be peanuts
  16. That they can get some B- prospects for in July from a contender
