  1. FWIW, Hockeybuzz is reporting that the Canucks want Saad for Kesler, so the Hawks said no. They also are reporting that the Hawks won't trade Seabrook or Hjalmarsson but are shopping Oduya.
  2. On TV on contact, I would have bet my life that was going 410 feet. What the hell happened? Wind?
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 02:01 PM) Rienzo, you are not fun to watch. This statement doesn't do it enough justice.
  4. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 01:30 PM) Gotta look deeper. He has 10 quality starts in 12 starts overall. Only 8 guys have more than 10. His ERA is inflated due to 2 really bad starts. So you are trying to say that a team would give up a good prospect for Danks?
  5. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 01:26 PM) Danks has been far from mediocre this year. I'd bet someone would take him if he keeps pitching like he has been, but I wouldn't trade him, he's been too good. Lexi/Gordon/Conor and some guys in the pen are all decent trade chips. His ERA is 4.17 and his WHIP is 1.32. No one is giving up a prospect of value for that, especially when "that" is still due a stupid amount of money.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 01:24 PM) Belisario's very valuable as a set-up guy, middle reliever. Beckham and Viciedo could get you something. DeAza eventually can be cleared for salary relief if he gets hot, not that we have anyone but Taylor/Sierra/Danks to give playing time to in the 2nd half. Viciedo and De Aza are just bad. I did forget about Beckham.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 01:21 PM) Alexei is far and away the best trade chip this team has And I don't believe they could get as much as we'd all like them to get. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 01:20 PM) Nobody is taking Danks contract. Right, especially if he continues to be mediocre, hence the reason I said it won't happen.
  8. I'm not sure if this was touched on in another thread, but the worst part of this is that there aren't any great trade chips on this team. Danks would have to have a great July, but I'm not banking on that. I'm not sure if any team would give up a hell of a lot for Dunn. Gillaspie could net a mediocre haul. The only guy would be Sale, and he's not going anywhere.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 12:00 AM) Can the Hawks beat the Kings in the finals next year to get to the Cup? Are the Blues going to knock out the Hawks early next year? Yes, because the teams are about even. No, because they're the Blues.
  10. Ok, enough is enough with Andre Rienzo.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 09:45 PM) Brilliant analysis. Thanks for the info. Michal Roszival was a +25 combined for the last 2 seasons. Patrick Kane was a +18 for the last 2 seasons. The +/- stat is ridiculously stupid. As for Seabrook's offense, I couldn't care less. I'd rather have a defensive rock there, not an offensive guy. Keith and Leddy can put up offense, and I think that's enough d-men who can rack up points.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 02:44 PM) Seabrook WAS good "this year," he just had a pretty bad playoff run. I'm sure that's why you think he was bad all year. I would be shocked to see Johns put up half a point a game and a +23 rating. Hahahah ok. He was not good.
  13. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 01:50 PM) Replacing Seabrook and Oduya with rookies is risky. Losing Kane or Toews is riskier. Plus, with the way Seabrook played this year, I'm not sure Johns can be worse. Dahlbeck was great this year, so I think he could replace Oduya and do a fine job.

  15. I wonder if WWE would consider Cesaro winning the MITB, and then Lesnar winning the ladder match. Cesaro then comes out and beats Lesnar, turning face and then setting up their already rumored bout at Summerslam. I don't think they could have Lesnar carry the belt for awhile with how much time he doesn't get on TV.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 10:49 AM) Makes it easier to swallow the Crawford/Bickell/Bollig deals, especially with the new contracts coming up for 19 & 88. I don't hate the Crawford deal, but every little bit counts. However, I still think they need to deal Seabrook and maybe even Oduya. With Dahlbeck, Clendening and Johns ready to go, I think they could lose both and still be in decent shape on the backend.
  17. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 11:49 AM) Serious question: Take the 23 players from the Hawks and Kings and put them against the 23 best players from the entire Eastern Conference. How many games do the Hawks/Kings win in a 7 game series? I would say zero.
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) I bandwagon the s*** out of the Hawks. I pretty much only watch during the playoffs, never before their first cup season. Go out for the big gamesn get wild when they win. I go to the playoff games, helping drive up the price of playoff tickets only to hear "longtime" fans b**** about how they can't afford it anymore. Oh well. Nobody gives a s*** how long you've been a fan. Exactly. Bandwagon? No s***. This organization was the worst in the world, consistently, for years. Why the hell would they have any fans whatsoever? Why would 20-25 year olds have given a s*** about the Blackhawks when they were 10-15 years old?
  19. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 06:14 PM) I could be totally wrong, but I have hunch it's going to be a very slow and quiet off-season for the Hawks. Hossa is going to be 36, Sharp is going to be 33, and a few of these guys are looking like they have a lot of miles on them. I think Bowman is going to spend most of the off-season trying to lock up Toews and Kane to creative extensions, and give this core one more shot to make a run in 2015. If they fail, that's when you start seeing bigger pieces moved. Now, you could argue that they should be ahead of the curve and start moving these guys when their value could be higher, and to be honest I wouldn't disagree with that logic, but I just don't see Bowman making any significant changes yet. I think they are one off-season away from that. Just my hunch. I would agree, but I think if any of them go, it will be Seabrook. Johns, Dahlbeck and Clendening can all play next year and be fine. Another one could be Oduya for some draft picks.
  20. I meant young good player* not defenseman RE: Barkov.
  21. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 10:17 PM) All that silly dynasty talk can stop now What if they win it next year?
  22. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 11:13 PM) Stan better be on the phone by now, calling every team that will answer about Brent Seabrook. Should I go out on a limb and say a Hawks/Florida trade is forthcoming? Seabrook for Barkov. DO IT. Why the hell would Florida trade a young, good defenseman for a slow, fat one?
  23. For all of these years, Seabrook has been a mediocre player who has looked decent because of Keith. This postseason, Keith hasn't been there to bail him out. I'm just glad Foley isn't doing these games. "Rough play there BUT HE WAS A PLUS 30!"
  24. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 27, 2014 -> 08:03 PM) No way would it take nearly that much, and he's not worth that. But, I'm fine dealing a Leddy this year to try to fill a 2C (if you are going to refuse to play Sharp there). He might be. In 2009-2010 and 2010-2011, he was nearly a ppg player. He's been hurt quite a bit since, so from that perspective, it might be too risky. I'm not ready to play Sharp there. I'm not sure of other names out there as a 2C to either sign or acquire.
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 27, 2014 -> 10:58 AM) I still believe they could have had Kesler, and that would have been outstanding. It would have solved several issues that we are seeing now. It would take a hell of a lot to get Vancouver to deal Kesler inside the West and to a rival, and plus, it would probably take Leddy, Saad, a prospect and a few picks, and while I might do that, I don't think the Hawks would.
