  1. Coyotes over Wild in the West Rangers over Pens in the East Rangers over Coyotes in 5
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 12:15 PM) This team will happily spend money though... Didn't Goodell punish them last year thus leaving them like $15M over the cap? I thought it was them and Dallas.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 09:10 PM) Jadaveon Clowney is crazy http://m.deadspin.com/5972378/jadeveon-clo...ed-the-football I was reading something when Clowney was a HS senior and it said that if he was able to go from high school to the pros, he would've been a top 10 pick. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 09:06 PM) Florida St.'s playcalling is horrendous. Better play calling and this game is over already. They are averaging about 8 ypc. How is he not running more?
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 12:07 PM) The fan polls have Gruden as the fans" choice to take over. 45-51 his last 6 seasons as a head coach with 0 playoff wins. Don't ever underestimate what making faces on the sideline does for your popularity. Gruden won Rich Gannon an MVP and won a Super Bowl with a team Dungy couldn't, probably because Brad Johnson was the QB. He started going downhill when he got too much power and started drafting his guys. If he took this job, he'd know Emery would have last say in things. Gruden is a great offensive mind and he loves Cutler. Maybe time away from the booth would help him in today's NFL.
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) If in Week 17 your playoff scenario includes the phrase, "AND Team Y loses" then you are backing into the playoffs. Ok, we'll go with your definition of "backing in." The Giants last year finished the season 3-5. They won their final 2 games. They needed help week 17. They got in. They won a title.
  6. I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread, but how about Berkman as a LH bat? He might be a bit costly, but he could DH and play 1B with a very slim chance of playing some RF.
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 11:24 AM) Even less so... Everybody knew A.J. was a dick. He's probably a bigger jerk than Jay Cutler. I don't know how you don't "buy" something like this. It most likely happened. It's so out there that it's hard as hell to make up. There were reasons the Sox did not want to retain AJ. The first is that he was getting old and not going to be as productive, the second was that he wasn't exactly a good clubhouse guy. There's no reason for the Sox to spend $7.5 million on him when Flowers has shown flashes of being a ML quality hitter and is a much better defender. I love Cutler and Pierzynski, but I've ran into both on several occasions away from the field. One is a down to earth, normal guy (Pierzynski) and the other would rather you blindly ran onto the Dan Ryan (Cutler).
  8. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 10:06 AM) What is backing into the playoffs and getting clobbered in the first round really worth? Does that really make you feel that much better about the Bears? It does nothing for me. Except if you win the final 2 games of the year, you're not exactly "backing into the playoffs," are you?
  9. All the best to AJ in Texas. As someone said, I'll have to find my way in on August 23 to get him some cheers. 2005 would not have been possible without him. One of the most honest, smartest baseball players in Sox history. Good luck, AJ.
  10. Not one mention of Jabari Parker's decision in here?
  11. Alex Cintron, Manny Ramirez, DJ, and Ehren Wassermann
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 08:46 PM) The Bears didn't need DE or a tweener. They needed OL help. For one, you said you're still mystified how McClellin was drafted at all, implying no team should've taken him. But since you didn't mean it that way apparently, an argument could be made that they did need DL help. What have their DL-men done this year? Wootton has been their best one. Idonije is nothing more than a 5-6 sack guy. Have you seen Peppers' season? He has 0 FF, 1 FR, and 0 INT's. Furthermore, Henry Melton had a great start to the year, but he's only had 1 sack in his last 5 games. They did need OL help, and it's a damn shame they added only f***ing ONE all offseason and that was Chilo Rachal, but DL was a need as well.
  13. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 08:08 PM) If I'm the Bears GM I'd give Jake Long a blank check and ask him how much. I don't know about that. He's 28, yes, but he's had a back, biceps, and triceps injury in the past 2 years. He's likely going to cost 35-50M guaranteed.
  14. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 06:50 PM) As nice as it would be to land Long I think the chances of him ending up actually hitting FA are very unlikely. Actually, most people think he will walk. He's had back issues and isn't the same dominant LT he used to be. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) I'm still mystified at McClellin being drafted - at all. Oh come on. Be real. He had like 25 TFL and 17 sacks the past 2 years at Boise State and ran the 2nd best 40 time at the combine of OLB/DE's.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) OL is all about value picks. Not taking one in round 1 doesn't necessarily bother me, you can get special players at various positions there. This is just predicated on being able to get 5 year starters on the OL in rounds 3-7. I sure wouldn't mind getting Te'O this year. Te'o will go top 12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 03:31 PM) LOL, I was just searching for that. I mean, thats ridiculous. Its even worse that we picked a 3-4 rush end instead. How about the players drafted that are starting in general Weeden Reiff Hightower Mercilus (5 sacks 19 tackles) Zeitler (12 starts) Harrison Smith Doug Martin David Wilson Fleener Upshaw Janoris Jenkins Silatolu Glenn Martin Silatolu hasn't been very good. Glenn has been solid. Zeitler was a guy I would've liked to see them take. Reiff has been nothing more than an extra blocker. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 03:17 PM) can we get a TE in there? The Bears should trade down and pick up a 2nd + a 3rd, and with one of their 2 second's, take Zach Ertz from Stanford and Larry Warford (OG) from Kentucky + sign Jake Long. Either do this, or still take Warford and take a LB in round 2, and sign Jared Cook. Whichever way, have Carimi and Webb battle it out at RT. Keep Spencer. Long-Warford-Garza-Louis-Webb/Carimi That immediately becomes a solid OL as long as Warford pans out.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 01:01 PM) Too bad he wasn't ready to play last week... The Bears dropped 6 passes and 2 were TD's. The first INT was a result of Jeffery falling down. Did you watch the game?
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 04:49 PM) MIZ-DGB That worked out well.
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 08:59 AM) Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Adrian Peterson, RGIII, and Aaron Rodgers are all good choices as far as I'm concerned. Don't forget Luck.
  19. Keppinger has an eerie resemblance to...Joe Cowley.
  20. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 03:59 PM) You cannot advance a blocked PAT or an interception or fumble recovery on a 2pt conversion in the NFL. No, but if the PAT would've somehow been fumbled down the field and the Packers had recovered in the endzone, it's worth 1 point, and so the game would've been tied 13-13. Or, if the Seahawks had gotten multiple personal fouls called against them, had to kick the PAT from 70-80 yards away and then fumbled the snap into the endzone, it's worth 1 point.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 07:43 PM) Apparently Wilbon "reported" today that DJ Moore was speaking on behalf of a group of Bears players. Wilbon pretty much said that he's guessing some others have an issue with Cutler. He never said "and I know many others have problems with Jay" or anything.
  22. When you run your mouth all week and then get slapped around during the game, that looks terrible. Be quiet, Cutler. Go out and throw TD's and shut the hell up.
