Sunday Oct. 20th, 3pm. Grandstand Sports - 600 W. 35th Street - Chicago. Tickets are $40 - 1 autograph per ticket. You can buy them at Grandstand.
-
Or just go to the game, you can scalp for REALLY cheap right now. Guy told me Monday they are selling lower tickets for under $10 each from the scalpers. If that isn't your bag, $15 lower reserved seats or $7 upper deck seats. I get the $7 seats and move to open seats all the time. You can do the same with the $15. The game isn't going to be even close to sold out, so no need to pre-purcahse tickets, IMO.

I thought it was a good read. Had some questionable areas but overall pretty much how I feel.
-
Got it too. Was shocked by the shortness of it. I think they need to keep the low ticket prices moving forward, and run more promos like they did during the 4th of July series. Those dollar dogs and reduced everything else was pretty awesome. Play on the field. Chris Sale.

QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 03:18 PM) The harold is from 2008. Nellie Fox was 2002. The 02 Mags, Fisk, and Minoso bobbles were co-sponsored by Pepsi, and were available not only at the stadium as giveaways, but also in a mail in offer. The main in bobble shave different packaging and no sponsor logo on the bobble(pepsi logo on box). The STH Baines and Fox bobbles go for a lot on ebay. I have them, but looking for cash. They ask for a lot on Ebay! I got the Fox for $60. I have only seen one Baines go to auction, and it was for $120-$140. Let me know your price man! That is, if you want to get rid of it.

AJ provided this team with a leader and a voice. An attitude. They are really missing that this year. This team is very vanilla, someone needs to step up and make some noise. Pauly isn't gonna do it. Dunn isn't gonna do it. Peavy talks a good game, but doesn't carry it over clearly. We need a leader. AJ doesn't make us a contender, much like Flowers doesn't make us a losing team. That being said, a World Series trophy is only second to a Super Bowl trophy in this town. NBA would be 3rd. Hockey 4th. There are a TON of Blackhawk bandwagons right now, that happens. It says alot that the Stanley Cup finals was on a channel that many folks didn't even get on their regular cable/dish. Hawks sell tons of tickets, and keep raising their prices. No one even complains. The wagon is going strong, ride it till the wheels fall off! I enjoy the Hawks, but I am in no way a die-hard fan. And hell, I'd watch the Playoffs of just about any sport.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 09:39 PM) I have two Frank Thomas ones. I'm guessing you have it. I have a cool Hawk and DJ one and also a Miller Light White Sox vendor. Oh and Mags. I have the most recent Frank Thomas. Oddly I am not that interested in the others (seems like there are several more that the Sox gave out). Plus the company that did them for the Sox made other versions that were available for retail. That Hawk and DJ is a sweet bobble. I was given that one years ago along with a Konerko. Thanks for the reply. I am looking for the Harold Baines season ticket holder bobble from '03 or around there. And the fantasy camp ones, not including Mark Salas. I have a Chief bobble (and one extra I might add).

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 03:40 PM) We put this section of the board up specifically for this kind of stuff. Not many people utilize it, but it is here if people want to do so. I appreciate it. I am at the point where I have very few to get and those are pretty hard to find. Trading is the only option. Ya never know, I have a buddy who continues to score really good deals off Craigslist. It's a chase that is for sure.

I don't know why I am doing this (haven't received much response) but I want to be VERY CLEAR that I am not trying to "leach" anything from anyone. I am looking for some hard to get bobbleheads and I am looking to trade what I have or purchase these bobbleheads. I was accused of that behavior on another board and I want to be perfectly clear. And it was very nice that Boogua offered me a bobble that he didn't want, but as a collector (and not someone doing this for profit) I turned down his offer as I had that one already. So no, I am not trying to rip anyone off or get something for nothing.

Hey Guys- I am an avid collector of White Sox bobbles. I have a few extras and am looking to trade for ones that I need. If you have some that you are not displaying or would like to trade, let me know. Send me a message. Any old season ticket holders looking to unload some? Just let me know. Send me a message here or at [email protected]. I can let you know what I have to trade then. Thanks!

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 01:13 PM) But that is you. YOU. Those are things you do. You can't expect everyone to mimic your behavior simultaneously. There is a relatively small, dedicated core of fans that do this, probably 1/4 the fanbase if that. Then there is everyone else. I don't know. I would think other teams fanbases WOULD show up when the team was doing good. There are exceptions, of course. The O's struggled as much as we did, but they MADE the playoffs and still couldn't sell tickets. The Marlins despite winning a WS couldn't sell tickets. So that is us? In a huge market and can't sell tickets? The dedicated core of fans shows up anyways, not just when they are winning. If we can't expect our fanbase to jump on the bandwagon before the playoffs, we're effed for regular season attendance. Being that it is 80+ games, that really hurts the bottom line and hampers payroll among other things. So some are expecting the Sox to create a winner (for more than 3 years) with less money? Isn't that an unreal expectation?
-
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:22 AM) You don't understand why playoff tickets sold out? Is it really that hard to understand? As far as "they still don't show up," again, 3 games in April. But hey, jump to conclusions however you want. Once again, if a fan is using PRICE as the only reason they don't go, they shouldn't sell out. It isn't only price that affects sales, it is many factors. Of course I know why they sold out. Bandwagon fans. People trying to make a buck. And our fan base.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 12:22 PM) Someone in this thread compared the few games that have been played with last year's and there has been a slight boost. Just don't expect attendance to suddenly jump to 30,000 every single game simply because ticket prices went down. Actually it went down from what I saw. Detroit was the first weekend series last year, and it was later. Weather was better. I don't expect it to be the same. What I was asking was, if winning was the cure, the Sox would have been selling out at the end of the year. They weren't. I agree that it is a bandwagon group, but that wagon wasn't rolling at the end of last year. So winning wasn't the way to get more people in. Price was given as the excuse, but then highly priced playoff tickets sold out. So maybe it isn't price. It is what it is, I get it, but enough with the excuses. I don't expect it to jump that high, and yes it is early, but I was just noting something. I didn't expect a huge backlash that it has caused. Some fans are alot more sensitive than I thought. I called out a specific group of fans that said PRICE was the only issue that kept them from going. Not weather, not the month, only price. I still haven't heard them complaining about my post, only people that it didn't apply too. I thought it was more clear, I guess I was wrong. My bad.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 09:53 AM) The die-hards will show up no matter what but the band-wagoners just want to follow a winner. They don't know or care what place the team was in on Sept 1 of last year. They only remember where the team finished. What about winning DURING the season? That is what the Sox did all season (till the end) and there was still attendance issues with a first place team. It was blamed on price then, but of course playoff tickets sold out (which a much higher price tag). Bandwagon makes sense, doesn't bother me at all. The only thing that bothers me is the fan complaining about something, it get's changed and they still don't show up.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 04:53 PM) Wasn't me. No it wasn't, but you asked what I was talking about, so I told you. You responded to something I said to another poster. Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 04:39 PM) It is the new reason du jour. Before it was prices. Then it was winning. Now it apparently is winning for a half of a decade in a row. I agree, obviously. We were in first place at the end of last year, half price Monday, Sale pitching, and we had 10k at the game.

QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 04:25 PM) The last comment should have been in green, obv I don't care enough about you or your opinions to actually mean what I said. Point was made though, get off your high-horse Summer. Clearly. How am I saying I am any better than anyone else? Sorry you feel that way.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) Graf 1, history says you are wrong - people come out in bigger numbers in summer even in down years, this trend has existed time eternal. Graf 2... what on earth are you talking about? We'll see! Hope more come out. 2- If you think what I did last summer was for publicity, that is way off. I didn't get any publicity, on here I did, but nothing happened to me after I finished. Publicity for what I would ask. I thought it was a good thing to share with the board, guess some people looked at it in a negative light. The whole deal was you don't have to spend a small fortune to go to a Sox game, and I proved it. There were multiple deals available to make it easy on the regular family. We debated many issues in my thread last summer, I though it was great chatter.

QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 02:27 PM) I think we all go to as many games a year as we can. If I had no other responsibilities, and either lived in the area or had a s***-ton of disposable income then I would be there rain or shine. The place is a mecca to most of us and just because you were resourseful/lucky enough to attend 50 games last year doesn't mean you need to get up on a soap-box about attendance (or lack thereof). Congrats on "your Sox summer", I think it awesome and would love to be able to do that myself someday. With that said, so help me the next time I hear you claim that I am not a Sox fan because I haven't been to a game a week into the season because "tickets and parking are cheaper" I will find you and b**** slap you. I will be at the park all spring / summer / fall, come say hi.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 02:14 PM) 1) Nowhere did I say that spending money makes you a better fan. However, it does help payroll more than spending less money. 2) Yeah, you did it for publicity. Congratulations. 3) Sure you can make a thread about whatever you want. Doesn't mean it makes any sense. You making assumptions out of essentially 3 games is similar to taking the Sox players' performance to date and calling them an all-star, a bust, etc. Sample size anyone? And if more people showed up, there would be more money. I understand that it is early, but if the fans aren't excited at the beginning of the year, I doubt when it is hot and or we are 10 games out, they will be coming in droves. Well, you really missed the point (I wonder if you even read the blog honestly) of why I did what I did. That's cool, no worries.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 01:26 PM) Outside of the absurdity of judging 3 April games to make this thread, anyone else find it ironic that a guy that attended games for what, a total of $500 last year, is calling out other fans? I'm willing to bet there are people on here that attend 2-3 games per year with their families and spend more money with the Sox than he does. Grabbing free tickets left and right doesn't make you a great fan by itself, or put you in position to make this thread. 53 games for $400. And yes, I am calling out the fans that specifically said that if the price was lowered they would go to more games. Is it early? Of course. But the excitement should be there. So spending more money makes you a better fan? Talk about absurdity. If you still don't understand why I did what I did last summer, I can't help ya. There are 50+ blog posts to help you understand it. Taking advantage of deals and putting in effort beyond logging into Ticketmaster, isn't grabbing free tickets. And I am pretty sure any member of this board is allowed to make a thread about anything they want. You choose to respond to it or not.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 12:21 PM) Put a number on to what acceptable attendance would have been. 25k would have been nice.
-
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 12:02 PM) Ok, well my point still stands. Did you complain and say that price was the only thing holding you back from going to more games? If not, this whole thread doesn't apply to you anyways. Cheers!
