QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jun 24, 2015 -> 02:54 PM) worth noting, these arent giveaway bobble heads.. looks like you have to purchase them separately. Come dressed in your finest Star Wars attire and then march in a pre-game parade around the field. We'll be featuring Star Wars graphics and music throughout the game as well as offering an exclusive Adam Wan Kenobi bobble head for the first 1,200 fans to purchase! It is a $35 ticket. $5 for Stand Up To Cancer. $30 for the game ticket and bobblehead.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 24, 2015 -> 02:17 PM) I wonder how many of those will be thrown onto the field after Eaton makes another dumb ass mistake? The Sox PR department is really reaching on this promotion. I would disagree. There is a huge market for bobbleheads, add in Star Wars, you are golden. I am surprised it took this long for the Sox to jump on this bandwagon, most teams do this now. What hurts this promotion is gonna be Bears vs Pack at noon.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 1, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) US Celluar field is in Bridgeport. Racist white people all over. It's super safe man. Not just the whites! Bridgeport is an interesting mix of folks. I love it.

If you wanna save money, you have to park further away. Shallers would be your best option. About 6 blocks from the park. You can park at Buffalo Wings and Things - they have a shuttle. Same with Ricobene's. All in Bridgeport. Google them. If you wanna be as safe as possible, park in the lot or take a shuttle. They usually charge $15 at the non-Sox run lot by 35th Street hot dog stand. I live in the neighborhood, walked home for well over 150 games, never had an issue. Just be aware and leave when the crowd does.

Hey Guys- I have decided to start back up my blog. For those of you that don't remember, I did a blog in 2012 that chronicled my quest to go to 50 games for under $500. Back then I was new to the neighborhood and very under employed. Since then, I have gotten a full time job, got married and bought a house in the same area. Been a busy couple of seasons, 2013 I went to 53 games, 2014- a mere 46. I have watched a TON of bad baseball on the south side, but I still get excited to go over to the park. So take a look at it if you want, I will post only in this thread when there is an update to it, just so it stays in one place. I do this for fun, so keep that in mind. Thanks and Go Sox! https://mysoxsummer.wordpress.com/

Nice to see Micha have such a great game. Great win for the team. Also, has to instill some confidence into the pitching staff that this team can get some timely hits. Good time.

I have been going to 50+ games a year since 2012. It takes something really special for me to watch a game on TV. I'd rather be there and I rarely watch away games.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 1, 2015 -> 09:05 AM) Selling giveaway promo items for huge profits should be banned as well. I see what you did there. I think if people pay it, that is their thing. If they are happy, who am I to judge?
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2015 -> 10:42 AM) I understand that, but usually they make no effort to hide the giveaways they already have received. Just drop down a bunch of $5 tickets and say fill me up. I wish the Sox did that, but they have always made me go in and out. Pretty sure the Brewers do it like that though. The Brewers (and many other clubs) also do "all-fan" giveaways. If the Sox wanted to make sure everyone got one, they'd do more than 20k.

QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ May 1, 2015 -> 07:36 AM) So uh... Why? I collect bobbles and I trade bobbles. If I have more than one, I can trade more.
-
QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 01:00 PM) They will let you re-enter as long as you have more than one ticket. They closed the loophole for the team store and bar. I had 13 tickets for konerko card day last year. Walked in 13 times and got 13 cards That is what I did too. What I thought you were talking about was the scan in and scan out to get multiple promos on the SAME ticket. That ended last year. I have no issue (and the Sox shouldn't either) with multiple items with multiple tickets.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 08:11 AM) I showed up 5 minutes before the game last year and got a Tony LaRussa bobblehead. They had so many left over, they gave some away this past Sunday for checking in with the MLB Ballpark app. But I do agree, free sells. I really don't know what I would do with a Jose Abreu blanket. Ebay seems nice. I did sell the gumball machine championship ring they gave away in 2006 on ebay for $300. I thought when they received it, they would be pissed, but the lady contacted me and told me she was so happy. When I was a kid, I went to a game with my dad on umbrella night. Sure enough, it did rain. Perception of value. A "free" item makes ya think you are getting something extra. They make TONS of extra giveaways. It is never the number they announce. I am willing to bet it is double. They send out everything to the season ticket holders and account for breakage. I like that ring too. I also like that a fellow Sox fan in Cali gave me one.

QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 07:43 AM) There will be no blankets left. I'm willing to put money on it. Especially after the sox started letting people come in and out for multiple SGA items. They stopped that last year. You can't leave until after 1st pitch. I ate a bunch of $7 seats to get multiple bobbles.

QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 03:06 PM) you really didn't fully stated what you were saying, so do you mean never!!! Not ever! Anyone going tonight? I will be the drunk guy holding the Mortal Combat themed sign. That being said, DON'T SIT BY ME. I need my room

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:30 AM) I've been to a couple games this season. When the crowd isn't going to be at least 25k, I don't think they even check for upper deck seats if you want to go to the lower level. This. I bought tens of $7 seats last season for weekday games, was never checked. Not one single game. Not once. Never. I like having room at the park, stay home!

Still looking, updated my list!

I am always looking for older Sox bobbleheads and the new Jose Abreu SoxFest exclusive. If anyone has something to trade (or sell), let me know. We can work something out. Thanks!

Get a package, have rep access all year. Plus, as season ticket holder, you have lower level access. I have Fri, Sat and Sun for every home series. 38+ games? for under $200. $7 upper corners.

QUOTE (shakes @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 01:30 PM) Couldn't agree more. The Sox are struggling bringing in casual fans. I would imagine this will cater to kids and families. When I go to a game with my nieces and nephews what they talk about is the fireworks, Southpaw, dancing between innings, and t-shirt cannons. The NBA is awesome at that stuff and more is needed at the the park. Baseball is a very deliberate sport and it can be hard to keep casual fans attention, in this day and age, when they are use to constant stimulation from multiple sources. I won't miss AC/DC and the cheesy introductions. I go to watch the games, but I'm not who they need to attract to the park. They need more younger fans and more casual fans. Bingo.
