  2. Forget about Tara Reid, BT is performing!!
  3. Tang. Or Fluff. Do grocery stores still sell either of these items?
  4. QUOTE(GLOAD is GOD @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) Sadest day in White Sox history....I will honestly say though, this does look like a steal. Ross should pwn up for KC too One aspect of this trade which I'm not looking forward to is Gload absolutely destroying our pitching next year. We all know it's going to happen.
  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 12:44 PM) Where's he going to play? DH-Sweeney 1B-Shealy OF's: Gathright, Dejesus, Sanders, Brown, and Mark Teahen. I wouldn't be surprised if Sweeney is delt somewhere. Perhaps the Angels. I was absolutely thrilled to log onto Soxtalk and read about this transaction. This had to be a move Moore initiated. I don't believe Williams would have had the nerve to contact Kansas City and present Gload for Andrew Sisco. Wonder if any one of these bullpen vacancies are opening a slot for Lumsden in 2007...
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 06:51 PM) When I say upside, I mean exactly that...upside and I still don't know if I make that deal without Pelfrey. You can't. Next starter traded damn well better land us more than a Cooper project. Especially in the wake of the package Colorado received from Houston. Either Vazquez is packaged to the Mets for Pelfrey, or another team for one/two of their top pitching prospects, or he isn't traded. If Vazquez (or any other starter) is delt for a poor package which, similar to Garcia, appears to be a salary dump, I'll lose a tremendous amount of respect for Williams. If New York isn't willing to trade Pelfrey, fine; enter next season with a patchwork rotation. From all accounts I've read, they're neither the favorites for Zito (Texas) or Mulder (Arizona). It certaintly may change, but if Minaya is forced into a corner with the lack of available pitchers, I don't see many options for him.
  7. Uh, is this your own personal assessment of the greatest teams or a list compiled from a baseball website? It would seem strange you'd mention the Cincinnati Reds as a biased selection, however, I don't know many people outside Chicago who would label the 2005 White Sox as the best team of ALL TIME.
  8. Giovanni isn't replacing Buehrle in 2008 unless he has an absolutely spectacular season in AAA. Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if we delt him again for a lefthanded starting pitcher to replace Buehrle. If he remains, I'll predict what I do with every other Sox prospect -- he won't experience immediate success, and will be sent down to the minors two weeks following his initial promotion. He ultimately won't prove productive until 2010, when his ERA finally creeps below 5 and walks no longer become an issue.
  9. QUOTE(kwill @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) They have swung and missed twice and i think they need some starting pitching. how about howie kendrik, and brandon wood for uribe, iguchi and garland. Sounds like a deal. Nope. This offseason's desperation trade already happened. We missed it.

    Speaking of MTV, I'm watching -- yet again -- "True Life: I'm a Staten Island Girl." It's freakin' hilarious. Every stereotypical image one associates with Staten Island girls are showcased. It's amazing how self-centered and irritating these people can be. THAT GUY..IS YOUR TYPICAL STAAAATEN ISLAND JERRRKOFF!
  11. I can't predict future trade scenarios, but if Williams does trade Garland with the intention of acquiring pitching prospects, anything less than Hirsh/Buchholz will be a rather large oversight on our behalf. Again, because I know some people misinterpret everything unless it's hammered out syllable by syllable, if we're intent on trading Garland it should lend us no more than the equivalent of these players. That is, atleast two of an organizations top pitching prospects.
  12. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 02:25 AM) Porn. Be more specific, now. Big Naturals? Fifth Street Latinas? Not that I would have any knowledge of these, just heard they may exist.
  13. QUOTE(bmags @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) i like justin timberlake a lot. It's not really guilty, though. I believe it was you whom said last month, when I suggested 'My Love' was a great song, that the entire Timberlake album was good. Well, I decided to listen and must admit it was. 'What Goes Around Comes Around' is probably the album's best; especially the final two minutes of the track. It's a shame that radio stations around here leave out the conclusion to the song.
  14. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) Eternal Darkness, is one heck of a mindtrip scary videogame. I dont want to let the cat out of the bag when it comes to your sanity meter going overboard, but I will warn you that some weird stuff starts happening. I own the game, and I love it. Really creepy storyline and the way it is presented is really cool. I definitely recommend that game. I'm a huge fan of survival horror video games. When Eternal Darkness came out several years ago I was tempted to buy the Gamecube counsel solely because of it. Several magazines reviews I read labeled it the best game within the entire genre. 40 hours as gameplay, as IGN estimated, is unbelievable when you consider most Silent Hill/Resident Evil games run under 20. Perhaps the only competitor (which I haven't yet played, but asked for a Christmas gift) is Resident Evil 4.
  15. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 07:06 PM) I was referring to the DS. I plan to purchase a Wii myself. My mistake, I meant DS. The link goes to DS reviews featured on Gamespot.com.
  16. B>W, do you know if the Nintendo DS is compatible with the Wii? If so, is there additional software required for the connection? I've really been thinking about purchasing a Wii as of late. Browsing through IGN's game catalog for Gamecube, there's a sizable amount of quality games. I figure the plan would be purchase Wii, then several of the following: -External Darkness -Resident Evil -Super Mario Sunshine -Metroid Prime -Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker -Metroid Prime 2 -Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time/ The Master Quest. -Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) Xbox360 and Playstation 3 are too expensive (in my opinion) right now, and since I own a Xbox and Playstation 2 already, I'll still have value left in the original consules. If Nintendo DS could play on Wii, that would really be the turning point. Dylan says Wii doesn't have many good games, although friends that have the system (and Gamespot) suggest otherwise.
  17. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) I don't care what music you listen too. So stop telling me.
  18. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 02:51 PM) ESPN News is stating that Jose Uribe was the father of Chicago White Sox SS Juan Uribe. Wikipedia claims he's a distant relative. I know that doesn't indicate anything conclusive, but I'd have to imagine most of the articles summarizing his death would have mentioned a relation if it were father/son.
  19. It's freightening how simple these plans are. If any terrorist cell within the United States wanted to, they could easily mimmick something such as this. While not on the destructive level as a 9/11, it would certaintly strike more fear within our country. Such a threat would be more localized to American citizens. No longer are high population centers targets. Your local mall, where you shop every weekend, may be next. This how I imagine many would feel.
  20. Yeah, I guess I can't read. Why all the commotion then over Gregory winning a primary election?
  21. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) apparently you can't read then. This was a primary with no real election. ........
  22. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) It proves nothing. The real election never happened. O RLY?
  23. QUOTE(VAfan @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 12:43 PM) So much for competing with the Yankees and Red Sox and Angels. We're still a "small market" club in the eyes of our owner. Heck, why not just dump the whole team like the Marlins did -- twice?? Williams can't reasonably trade all upcoming FA's if he has any intentions of assembling a World Series contender. I believe it's possible, however, to have a balance. Trade several for compensation, and keep the remaining players. If they are signed to contract extensions, great. If not, we'll receive draft picks. I believe at this current time it's vital to restock our minor league system because it's fairly baron. If the players you mentioned were not to be traded, or sign extensions, and end up leaving our club, who replaces them? Perhaps in the future, when Williams shows rededication towards a contributing farm system, we'll have in-house solutions for RF and/or 2B. What's worse -- holding onto Dye one season before his impending free agency and only receiving a draft pick in compensation, or trading him now, while his value is at its peak, for a collection of prospects who may help us for 5+ years. Is 1yr Dye > 5+ years of production from one/more prospects? You can use the previous philosophy for all our players, but realistically, I understand we can't just unload the entire team. Of the three (Dye, Buehrle, Iguchi), I would bet atleast one resigns. All three would be considered Class-A FA regardless, so we're bound to load up on sandwich picks if nothing else.
  24. It hasn't happened recently around here, but for a good time when Uribe replaced Valentin you'd find someone calling Juan "Jose Uribe." Only reason I knew who he was before this accident. I'm sure there are a lot of people browsing the internet today who believe our Uribe was the one killed.
