  1. I love how the first question the media asks Urlacher is about Reggie Bush showing him up by pointing and flipping into the endzone. Coward fell down several occasions rather than take a hit, and just took advantage of the touchdown to showboat.

  3. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 11:50 PM) That's laughable. The Descent is PURE trash. I wouldn't label The Descent the greatest horror movie of all time; but neither would I say it's terrible. It was definitely near the top of the genre in 2006.
  4. I didn't know the exact process, but I figured something had to be done before any contestants reached the judges. Think about the logistics -- 9,000 fans for one day; and even if every audition were two minutes long (which it isn't) Randy/Paula/Simon would have be to working for weeks straight to assess everyone. It sounds to me like the producers/whomever else are the ones doing the real dirty work. No situation supports this more than how Cowell mysteriously knew that Kenneth (kid who thought Simon labeled him a monkey) and the larger kid were friends. The time seperation between auditons couldn't have been more than a few minutes. How did he figure it out so quick? It appeared to me as if Simon read their supposed friendship off of a paper.
  5. QUOTE(Soxy @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 01:52 PM) The decisions to move the clock is made by the bulletin's board, which is composed of prominent scientists and policy experts, in coordination with the group's sponsors. I'd be interested in hearing who sponsors this. Atleast now that climate is assessed for the 'Doomsday Clock' we can be assured it'll never fall below 11:55 again.
  6. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 11:24 AM) It's also not about who can sing the best, but who they can mold the best. The best bet to survive is to be decent looking, have a decent voice, and willing to do whatever somebody else tells you and not have anything that would really define you as "you". This was destroyed last year by Taylor, and you can bet that it won't happen again. Anyone else catch the preview for tonight's episode where this odd-looking guy enters the room, and Simon tells him (paraphrasing), "You look like a troll coming out of the forest." I nearly died laughing upon hearing this. It was so cruel it had to be the result of Fox hiring the individual to take the insult. It's instances such as those which reinforce the criteria mentioned within your post. I don't believe he would have been selected even if his voice was amazing.
  7. Before opening this thread I immediately thought of Frampton. Next selection which pops into my head is the live recording of Jackson Browne's "Running on Empty."
  8. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAME OVER!!!!!!!!! May this thread be a testament to my negativity. I can't help myself.
  9. Can we make a god damn play to save our lives? Jesus Christ.
  10. This looks like it's going to end in heartbreak.
  11. What the f*** is going on? Why exactly were we attempting a punt? What has our defense shown within these last few quarters that convinces anyone they can stop Seattle? And at the risk of sounding like a crazed superfan, what Berrian did is enough to get thrown out of town if we lose. Completely inexcusable.
  12. After that turn of events, Bears absolutely need a touchdown. STEP 1: Bring...in...Benson. Jones' jukin' and jiven' doesn't appear to be doing much these last few drives.
  13. Heads/southsider, approve my TalkBears account. Where the hell is Benson? un f***ing believable. We can't move even one yard!?
  14. I'm fairly nervous about this afternoon's game. However you may compare/contrast Seattle and Chicago across various categories, with today's weather forcast as a mixture of rain and snow, the best team may not win. Field conditions could dictate this game, and that worries me. In particular, I'm weary of how our defensive backs will fare in pass coverage. Manning/Tillman can't slip, even once. Even though the Steve Smith threat isn't present for Hasselback, the last few games of the seasons I've seen far too many receivers left open down the middle of the field. Additionally, if the winds howling and the ground is loosening up, I can't forsee Turner implimenting a game-plan where Grossman throws more than 15 passes. So, now it's all up to Benson/Jones. Hell, it'd still be their game even if the weather conditions were perfect. Difference now is the threat of Grossman (however little you may perceive it) is lessened further. It'd become a repeat of what Indianapolis did to Kansas City -- crowd the line because the opposing quarterback can't beat you.
  15. Great, another week of hearing sports journalists and ESPN analysts tell me how great this is for the city of New Orleans.

    Cancelled Gems

X-Files spinoff Millenium featuring Lance Henrickson.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 05:59 PM) Wow that's impressive, and I thought running over a curb and needing $1500 in repairs in my first 10 days was impressive. More impressive when the circumstance surrounding the crash are taken into account. I crashed into someone I knew from school who had three other classmates inside the vehicle. Damages to his car -- $5,000; mine -- $2,000. Definitely wasn't a fun time to be within the Flash Tizzle household.
  18. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 01:52 AM) it took me 4.5 years to get my first speeding ticket. i got one tonight. Psh. It only took me two......days to get in my first accident.
  19. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 10, 2007 -> 10:23 PM) I don't know why, but I had a feeling that would happen tonight. Even more impressive since UIC was missing a good portion of their roster and coach. I was fairly shocked to find out they pulled an upset against the 12th ranked team in the nation several hours ago. Didn't even bother following the broadcast earlier because I assumed Butler would run the floor with UIC. They've been terrible inconsistent, despite a good record within the Horizon League. You're right about their roster -- two key players Karl White and Spencer Stewart weren't available. About Jimmy Collins, from what I've heard he spoke to them prior to the game. Must have been rather inspiring.
  20. Has anyone seen Pan's Labyrinth yet? I've read numerous reviews which list it as one of the year's best films.
  21. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 6, 2007 -> 10:18 PM) I feel ill right now. As you should. Typical performance from an Eastern Illinois graduate. This is appropriate as well in this instance. Watch people say this was a "team loss," even though everyone knows it's entirely Romo's fault. Similarily, I hate when such an idea is applied to baseball. There are individual losses, everyone knows it, but it's easier to toss blame across an entire team.
  22. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jan 3, 2007 -> 12:39 PM) With that throwing motion he has, he is going to hurt himself...I mean, come on...anyone who can make their hat fly off has got a little torque going. I think Coop is working with him. And I think he will be better. I noticed alterations in his delivery near the end of last season. Nowhere was it more evident than velocity -- his fastball appeared to sit around 93-95, opposed to 96-98 only days earlier. It wasn't merely dead-arm either. Appeared, to me atleast, MacDougal forsaked a few mph on his fastball for control. Perhaps such an alteration in mechanics can limit his injury risk.
  23. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 29, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) Care to explain. Not that I'm trying to sound like a smartass, I'm just bored so I got the time to read a well thought out post. I'll give you the opposite of a well thought out post: He's been connected to steroids on several occasions. I wouldn't be shocked if his name is included within the 100 collected by the government.
