QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) The old IGN predictions, screw those so called experts, these are the only ones that matter; http://sports.ign.com/articles/602/602324p1.html MLB 2006 predicted us to come 3rd with a 80-82 record, and get this, the Royals win with a 96-66 record. there's a reason why that's the game that doesn't sell.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) the funny thing is, we got 3 runs off homers and the other two off small ball... so its not like it's really "so much for speed ball" like Gardenhire says... I really think this team can do EVERYTHING offensively and that's why it has such great potential. a W is a W. and i for one, am glad to take it.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) So it's not LaTroya's fault that he choked and gave up a single and a double back-to-back with 2 outs? spivey should have never scored from 1st on a decenly fielded ball. Just saying.

Great game all around for our sox, led by duque's absolutely stellar performance. This is what i love to see.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) It's funny to hear Busty Baker have to defend LaTroya as the closer again. "Uhhh, yeah we still have confidence in LaTroy. He threw the ball well. We still have confidence in him." Yeah right, Busty. :rolly it wasn't really hawkins fault today. it's not his fault his outfielders can't pick up a a baseball

QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) Doesn't make you ignorant. When playing cards were first invented the suits were ranked. Spades signified the military, diamonds the aristocrats, hearts the clergy and clubs the peasants. The 2 of clubs is technically the least valuable card in the entire deck. It was just his tactful way of calling Mariotti a piece of s***. thanks for the explanation. oooooh, that hawk, he's so sly.

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 10:39 AM) sucks when its empty and the day games dont help the cause, people are cheap thats the real reason they dont show is it? i'm in college and can't get down there for a game until maybe next weekend. so that's my reason, what's yours?

This is one of his worse articles ever, and this is from someone that hates just about everything he writes. The quick jab at hawk in the beginning set the tone for this article. He's doing nothing but trying to spread his hate for everything black and white. When will the sun-times let 'em go?

For my rhet class we had to choose a 'subculture' to write our research paper on, and of course I chose White Sox Fans. I knew from the start I could use this place to help with my research. I need help looking for some more sources. Articles will do fine and that's what I'm looking for. I need it to be about 'White sox Fans', either our attitude toward something or mainstream society's attitude on us. I'm thinking the whole 'sox fans are better than cub fans' article will be a good one. I've got 2 books from our library that talk about history. One says in 1901, comiskey had 'railroad worker day' and then it goes on to talk about how the blue collar attitude of sox fans is different than any other team. Anybody got any articles that come to mind?

I started working @ dominick's as a bagger when i was 16, quit before i left for school. I wouldn't reccomend it, but it did put alot of money in the bank for me.

In fact, i'm listening to the end of the sox game from today right now on the indians broadcast to see what they're reaction was

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) $14.95 for a year is a huge steal. I signed up for it at the beginning of spring training. as did i. 15 bucks for an entire season of listening to just about any game you want live. can't really beat that.

The attendance was bad, first of all because it's a day game in april. Second of all, it's the day after opening day. Most people (not including us crazies) don't go to 2 games in a row. The size of the crowd didn't matter today, they witness and awesome game.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) IIRC (things may have changed over the past 5 years,) you only need to know up to trig for the math section. The science part is actually "Science Reasoning" which means you don't have to know dick about science, you just need to draw reasonable conclusions from the data they give you. I had trouble with the reading part (I'm Math/science oriented) because there were 25 questions that you had to answer in 20 minutes. I suggest looking at the questions first, then going through the article knowing what you are looking for. that's correct. The science part is all about observing and drawing conclusions. Based nothing on previous knowledge. I believe i got a 35 on the reading my 2nd time, 28 on english, and 25's on math and science. Something along those lines.

I took it twice. I took it in april my junior year, got a 26. Took it in june that same year, got a 28. All i can tell you is to try and stay focused. If you let your mind wander, your screwed for the reading part. Don't get yourself worked up over it. It usually will show how much you know, it's not going to be a fluke. If you keep calm and stay focused, you'll do as well as you think you can.
