  1. The guy once posted Ozzie's phone number (supposedly) on reddit. I'm going to believe this rumor is true.
  2. You'd rather keep Madrigal over Cease? I'd rather trade Madrigal, but I'm assuming they'd rather get Cease.
  3. He sounds like a man of his word. I believe him.
  4. I keep thinking this exact same thing. Great minds think alike!
  5. It's comical how some of the local reporters will bend over backwards for Jerry. Apparently Paul Sullivan is one of those.
  6. Also included in the trade was the Bull's 2nd round pick in exchange for cash considerations.
  7. Really? Didn't Gibson have TWO bum knees? He was also facing Eckersley.
  8. Is Hudson Head the equivalent of Jared Kelley, as far as rankings/prospect status?
  9. I'm warming up to the idea of signing Cruz. I was hesitant at first because Vaughn is close to ready, supposedly. There is a chance either Cruz or Abreu fall off a cliff next year with their ages (hopefully not both). Having the other around as insurance is a good idea.
  10. CWS, my man! Thank you for asking good sir! Instead of making a monetary bet, the bettors wage a ban or suspension for a certain length of time. Say the ban bet terms are for a 2 month suspension. The loser of the bet gets banned/suspended for 2 months. However, if the bet was not made in good faith or was completely unfair, the ban bet can be voided. For better or for worse, ban bets are no longer enforced here. I was winning so much. The mods got sick of all my winning and put an end to ban bets. Plus, I started feeling bad for pulverizing poor saps in these ban bets. I'm a lover, not a fighter, and I don't want to see good folks getting banned.
  11. Pitch clock is the most obvious choice. Implement it and enforce it. It's that easy. If they want to reduce the 3 outcome aspect of the game, deadening the ball and eliminating the shift could work. The idea of banning how your defense can position itself kind of sucks, but it would work. The NBA has illegal defense rules, and those didn't ruin the game.
  12. He specifically name dropped greg775 and called him a "total Chad"
  13. I think the league is likely high on Musgrove after the gaudy strikeout numbers he put up last season. Pirates won't trade him cheaply. I agree with @Chicago White Sox. It would take a prospect of Jared Kelley's ilk as the headliner.
  14. The only way Hahn can make this package more offensive is he if includes a literal bag of fresh shit as the 4th piece. Chances are Stiever is never as good as Musgrove. Sheets is a non prospect. The Pirates hang up on this offer.
  15. It's all good man. Unfortunately they removed the delete post feature, leading to this happening quite frequently.
  16. Wow! Hendriks said that he read all 90 pages to see the fans perspective, and we were the most positive fanbase online, and us being positive was a huge contribution in narrowing it down. Soxtalk played a roll in Hendriks coming here. Give us our due, Hahn.
  17. Unless they're itching for a ban. I would never do that to a new, unsuspecting member though.
  18. This fangraphs article educated me on how this Competitive Balance Tax/Luxury Tax business actually works. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/a-quick-note-on-the-liam-hendriks-contract/#comments Most of you probably understood this, but for luxury tax purposes, the total dollar amount of the contract is spread evenly across the the years of the contract (the AAV). The White Sox have a team payroll of approximately 131m, but their luxury tax payroll is 160m. This is because they have so many contracts that are back loaded. Why is this great news you ask? In the future when the Sox are paying the back end of these contracts, they won't have to worry as much about the luxury tax penalty. When their payroll is exceeding 210m in the future (or whatever the luxury tax is then), they won't actually be exceeding the luxury tax. Am I reading into this correctly? The future is bright!
  19. The negative side of me wanted smarmy old Rongey doing pre and post again. Didn't he post here briefly? Regardless, I'm fine with this. Good for McKnight getting an old gig back.
  20. That's why I'm against trading for a pitcher at this point. Just sign Q and roll with what we got. You can always trade at the deadline.
  21. You all disgust me. Reported. I reported you twice, Joe.

Lol that's so fucking pathetic. Talking about pandering to morons.
  23. C'mon man, we're talking about Al's here. The only beef sandwich they serve is the italian variety. Smh
  24. The biggest red flag with the Al's account is the "cheesy" part. Who the fuck puts cheese on an Italian beef? This isn't philadelphia. You eat it with giardiniera. The guy is a fraud.
  25. "Competitive major league team looking to add bullpen depth" Cheesy beef really going out on a limb here... I still don't buy that this guy knows anything.
