What's with all these pick offs?

Our biggest recent international signing, Fernando Graterol, finally started playing this last week. 6'1, 17 year old catcher who signed for 1.6mil. went 2-3 with a BB and his first HR of the year. Cardozo 3-4 with a B. Between Graterol, Romero, Cardozo and Vielma, I think there's a decent chance that we get a major leaguer out of the group. Every year I'm used to look at the DSL box scores and our players there are complete trash. Feels different this year.

Hopefully we can win this. Weather doesn't look promising. Go Sox!

I don't think he'll be a starting player long-term. Looking at his metrics, he's outperforming his expected stats by a large margin. He's in the literal bottom 2nd percentile in bat speed. He's been coming back to earth the last month and hitting closer to his expected metrics, which is below average.

Sheesh, for some reason I thought they had a worse pick than #2. I'm used to them always being good. I still don't buy it though. I think that could be lying on their part while hoping he drops down to them. Would they really be that vocal about how they're "totally out" on the guy and that their scouts don't want him at all?

That's like saying I'm not into the prom queen. It's easy to say your "not into" somebody when you have absolutely zero chance at getting them. I put zero stock into that. Who knows if it's even true.
