We have officially booked the Ocean Riviera Paradise (opens in 10 days). Now for excursions, what should we do? We already want to visit the ruins but would like to do one or two other things if one is a half day type thing

White Sox to Move Eaton?
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 03:06 PM) How do you know for certain he does not want to be here? Frankly, it doesn't matter. He is under contract for 5 years, so his opinion is moot It is a hypothetical I presented earlier. Not saying he is

White Sox to Move Eaton?
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 01:57 PM) Eaton has zero leverage as he is under team control for 5 more years. He can demand a trade all he wants but that would be ignored Why keep a player on a team that wouldn't want to be there?

White Sox to Move Eaton?
I could see Eaton going to upper management and saying he wanted to be dealt if we decide to do a rebuild and trade Sale + others.

Charlie Tilson
I keep forgetting this guy is on our team. Not sure how long his injury timetable is but will he end up being our starting CF if we trade Sale (without us getting Benintendi)?

Honeymoon advice
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) So, May is a clutch timeframe, its decently cheap. Se Riviera Maya is pretty good, but also can be pretty bland and a decent ride from the airport, I think I know every resort down there. What I dont like it how flat and bland the resorts can be. Also the ride to and from the airport bums me out, especially if you book a place near Tulum. I dont like sitting in a van for over an hour. With that said, there are many VERY nice resorts there for a good price, and tons of flights. Playa Del Carmen is a decently cool town. I am a fan of Montego Bay, food isnt the best but the part atmosphere is awesome. My wife and I went to a few there that were awesome. Our newest place has been Puerto Vallarta or Punta Mita. Close to airport, really nice places, and a town you can walk to and hang out in. Punta Mita is more expensive because of the resorts there. You can of course go to Cabo, but I tend to think there is a HUGE spread between quality of places there. We always stay with the Secrets brand resorts (forgot their corp name) because its only adults and no reservations for dinner. We are looking in the Playa Del Carmen area, we found a few ones we like including a brand new one opening in December (Ocean Riviera Paradise, H10 resort), which is about 45 min away from the airport. I will check out the other areas you mentioned as well.

Best Backyard for kids?
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 12:07 PM) Can I visit and just sleep on the basketball courts? Sounds like he should invite us all there and we can just camp on the court at night.

Honeymoon advice
Bringing this back. I posted in the summer vacation thread but figured this is a better place. Fiancée and I are going on our Honeymoon late May for a week. We are looking to stay under $3,000 for an all inclusive resort on a beach + flight (Yes, we have found a handful of places in Riviera Maya that we like) but also want to go to a place where we have the option to go outside the resort and explore. I am having a tough time finding locations other then Cancun/Riviera Maya. Any other places we should look at besides Punta Cana?

**2016 TV Watercooler Thread**
QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 27, 2016 -> 09:01 PM) Shameless: So Svetlana is stealing from the Alibi right? Like Andy in shawshank while doing the books? Just a thought. I think she is just using Kevin and V and put in some kind of paperwork that the bar goes to her if something happens or already changed over ownership somehow.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 26, 2016 -> 03:28 PM) Hope PSU wins. Would rather have a break before the playoff If Penn State wins the Big 10, I really hate that Ohio State who lost to the Big 10 Champ is going to be in the playoff and Penn State won't. Just seems so wrong to me

Vacation/Travel Thread
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 26, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) I was at one of the iberostar resorts for a wedding six years ago. It was the mid tier one and it was okay. Well that doesn't sound great lol. Unfortnately I think Puerto Rico will probably be out of our price range. Trying to find an all-inclusive place

We are now looking in the Riviera Maya area. Has anyone been to an all-inclusive resort down there?

Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2016
QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 25, 2016 -> 05:22 PM) This is a good suggestion but I got it for her for her birthday. I've been with her the last three birthdays and two Xmas's I'm out of idea. If I didn't do this last Christmas...Ugh. Psh at least her birthday isn't the day after Christmas.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2016
QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 25, 2016 -> 03:22 PM) lol, I just want people to be like "I get my wife/girlfriend X from Y and here's a link." Essentially outsource my Christmas shopping to you all. Mine wanted a Fitbit that was waterproof so I got her the Fitbit Flex 2 from Walmart for $70 (usually $100).

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Nov 24, 2016 -> 06:18 PM) I've had Fire TV with Kodi for several months. Would never go back. I've become a huge cricket fan. Not really, but I could if I wanted. It has been working well so far. Only watched 1 show but it went pretty smoothly with a few minor hiccups but nothing to make unwatchable

Technology catch-all thread
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 05:24 PM) I had a Surface Pro 3 and it was probably the best machine I ever owned. I used the main dock which had sliding ends to plug in. Apparently, now they sell a USB Hub style docking station that I'm not a fan of. Anyway, the machine was a beast. I'd write notes in OneNote, use Miracast to send it to any one of our Flatscreens in the conference room, configure switches and routers and at home. It was by far the best tablet I ever owned, and laptop I ever owned. But hey, some say cucumbers taste better pickled. As far as the FireTV, I have a few of the sticks with Kodi on them. Easy to install. I want to try a FireTV though which gives better performance, or perhaps a nVidia Shield. I just picked up the FireTv tonight to try it out. I will get Kodi on there and try it out and let you know how it works

2016-2017 NBA Thread
That was brutal. The 3 point play for Canaan was a good play but made for the wrong guy. He had been cold all game and on the bench the whole quarter, doesn't make sense to run a play for him

Rangers prospect facing charges
QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 07:06 PM) Do you have a point or what? The comment: but these are teenagers and boys will be boys. Just doesn't make sense and is not true. We were all teenage boys and that s*** didn't happen so this isn't just something teenage boys do. Yes they make fun of each other, push each other around, fart in their face, etc.. But they don't do this: "on a bed with his arms held behind his back and his legs pinned down. At least four men are seen in addition to the alleged victim, whose penis is exposed, grabbed and maneuvered underneath a hand towel" I'm not saying you think it is ok what they did but to just classify it as a "boys will be boys" thing is wrong

Rangers prospect facing charges
QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 03:14 PM) You can pick a few words and strip them of context and attribute whatever point you want to a quote. That doesn't change what the broader point was. "It's pretty messed up and disgraceful from "professionals" but these are teenagers and boys will be boys." Ok, what you said before it changes what?

Vacation/Travel Thread
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 08:30 AM) Puerto Rico is fantastic. I've been there twice including once for our wedding/honeymoon. The first time, we stayed here on the west side of the island. It was a little bit of a drive from San Juan, but there was plenty to do in the area(s) around there. Our wedding was at the Marriott in San Juan. I'd definitely check out Old San Juan and the old Spanish fort if you go. Our honeymoon was on Vieques at this hotel. You've got to take a little puddle jumper from San Juan to get here, but it's very secluded and minimally developed island with gorgeous, pristine beaches. One thing to keep in mind with any Caribbean or Central American travel right now though is Zika if you're thinking about having children. Good point. Not planning on it for a few years but still something to worry about. I will check out the ones you included, probably will be out of the price point we are wanting to spend right now but could be good for our actual honeymoon.
