  1. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 03:41 PM) I'm ready for Carlos Sanchez. Never really felt Lawrie was much of an upgrade at 2B. 3B sure but with Frazier that point is moot. I'm not too worried about Lawrie, he has enough of a track record that we know he will hit around 15 home runs and hit .250 or above. He could also be pressing since we are in Oakland
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 03:31 PM) I don't think his arm strength is top notch right now, but I do think he really was a 90-92 guy his last couple of successful seasons. http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfxo.aspx?pla...=P&pitch=FA 2013 he was around 91-93
  3. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 03:27 PM) Garcia somehow got that through That was an error
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) If this was 15 years ago and the pitch speed wasn't on the screen, all anyone would be concerned with is the actual results. I'm not really concerned with the speeds as long as it is working for him. Just posting so people know where his velocity is at. It has been has high as 91 in the first and 85 in the 3rd. If he can change his speed that much he can be successful
  5. Interesting route there Avi. Seems like if Latos is going to be successful he has to change speeds a lot, working so far
  6. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) I'd never throw Jose anything other than junk away. It seems like he will never be able to lay off those pitches consistently
  7. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 02:11 PM) On paper does it ever make sense to play a bench guy over a regular starter? Not necessarily, I think playing Saladino and Shuck today is fine simply because of the play on the field the first three games. I honestly think Saladino would have a better season then Rollins if both were giving the same playing time but I understand why Rollins is the starter. Rollins is 37 so he needs more time off then Jackson who is 29. Jackson had really good ABs last night against Gray and is the best fielder we have while Avi is a poor OF and has had 1, maybe 2 good ABs so far. And yes I know it is early but if you are wanting to make substitutions on a get away day (which is totally understandable) go with how people are playing the first few games. This is just my opinion though, there is no right or wrong.
  8. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) Maybe Avi said, I can't just DH and hit, I have to be playing the field. Then Avi can go to AAA and figure out how to be a better fielder. If he wants to stay in the majors he has to learn to be a DH, IMO
  9. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) This is going to be a long f***ing season if you guys are really going to look at every single move Robin makes under a microscope. I just want the move to make a little bit of sense and I just don't see it in this case. Even if Avi ends up going 3-4 with a home run, the move still doesn't make sense on paper
