  1. Wish they would let me use it in June. As I have no way to make it to Chicago in April for a game..
  2. Is the weather going to get any better in 3 weeks?? Would rather it not be 10 degrees and snowing while in Chicago
  3. The webcast quality is horrible.. I will just wait til it is on MLB Network
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 27, 2014 -> 12:50 AM) There's a Dave & Busters on Clark between Oak and Maple. Looks huge. Well hot damn lol.. Any other fun restaurants/bars kinda like it?
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 26, 2014 -> 08:03 PM) That is an extremely broad question. Where about exactly? Just trying to find something do on Friday night when we are come to Chicago besides just go to dinner. I know the NCAA tournament is going on.. Probably would like to go to a place where we can have the games on and have something fun to do.. Like I said, a Dave and Busters type of place
  6. Any suggestions on something to do downtown on a Friday?? Is there any place kind of like a Dave and Busters downtown at all??
  7. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Feb 26, 2014 -> 02:40 PM) really? Yes really.
  8. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 26, 2014 -> 01:34 PM) Are you staying anywhere near an L line? Much cheaper than parking. I am staying in Mount Prospects with family.. And we aren't too comfortable taking a train in the South Side
  9. I only get to go up to Chicago one a summer and hopefully I can go to both games against the Giants on 17th and 18th. The game on the 18th is a day game during the week so I am sure there will be cheaper tickets around. Are there any codes? Or would StubHub be better? Problem is with going to 2 games in a row is the money spent.. Over 40 bucks on parking alone.. There has to be a way to get a cheap deal.
  10. Is Willie Harris still around?? lol. Jon Garland Besides Buehrle who is my favorite pitcher of all time
  11. Why can't True Detective be longer!!??!
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 21, 2014 -> 08:48 PM) Jason and Jake were right. This is bulls***. This team won't stop winning. I thought when they were 9-16 a legit shot at a future star was inevitable. Mirotic better be for real. Who does everyone want with the Bobcats pick? Multiple draft sites have the Bulls taking Rodney Hood as of right now. I don't watch Duke. How good is Hood? He has a chance to be pretty damn good.. He would be our best SF on the roster probably. I would be happy with that pick.
  13. Started True Detective three nights ago and just caught up. It is a really good show. Wish it was more then a short 8 episode series..
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2014 -> 06:13 PM) The best burger near downtown IMO is at Au Cheval on randolph and Halsted, however its gotten super super busy these days. There are just tons of options to eat, and most of them wont be close to your hotel since thats a pretty pricey touristy area. But for those areas I would say M Burger and Howells and Hood http://www.zagat.com/r/howells-hood-chicago. They both have pretty mean burgers/brews. Howells is near the Mag Mile so good place to stop over when shopping. However it will be pricier than you are used to. For the best pizza near Mil Park I would say its Pizano's http://www.pizanoschicago.com/. s*** I have tons of suggestions this isnt even scraping the surface to be honest. If we were going to be there more then 2 days I would say we would need all the suggestions you have lol.. If the weather isn't to bad we will probably go up to the "Mag Mile" so Howells and Hood might be what we go for on Friday.. We expect it to be busy and pricey with being in Chicago so its alright if you have pricier suggestions. We will look into them and decide!
  15. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 18, 2014 -> 02:43 PM) Then make it easy, just use the 20 Madison bus there and back, runs up and down Madison and drops you off at the UC. After the game, there will be buses lined up waiting to take a ton of fans back that way. Can't miss it. If you decide you want to go to Crossroads, you can get off the 20, eat/drink, and either get back on the 20, walk (it is safe and you'll have a lot of people walking with you), or take the free shuttle from Crossroads (or any other bar on Madison). QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2014 -> 03:03 PM) Millenium park is all the way to the east side of chicago. Chicago is an easy grid system with 100's being a city block. Madison is the zero North/South mark and State st is the 0 from east to west. The UC is on Damen which is 2000 west or 20 blocks west of State st on Madison. You can take the 20 bus right there at Michigan and Madison and go all the way to the UC or on your way once you pass Morgan (1000 west) you will start to see bars like Old 5th, Beer bistro, Crossroads, Third Rail, and even further, West End. You can get off that bus at anytime and those bars will have a shuttle. They will announce when its about to leave and they can take you back to the bar afterwards from the madison ST entrance at the UC. Crossroads is my personal favorite since I know everyone but any of those places is a good bet. There are also some of the best restaurants in the country 2 blocks north on randolph st if thats your thing. The area is very nice and safe. Thanks guys! Seems like 20 bus will be the best bet and easiest. Rock, we will be looking for a good restaurant to eat at on Friday night.. We are burger type people, any suggestions on a good burger place downtown?
  16. QUOTE (SnB @ Feb 18, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) Taxi. Seriously, it can't be more than $15 bucks from downtown. I would be fine with it but my girlfriend really doesn't like taxi's and I am not a big fan either and there are cheaper alternatives It is only 3 miles so I can't imagine it being that much.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2014 -> 02:07 PM) Green line will drop him at Damen (I think) or Ashland as well. To be 100% honest, he should go down to Crossroads or something early and take the free shuttle to the UC. ALmost every bar in the West Loop area has a free shuttle to and from the United center going every 10-20 min. Really underrated. When does the free shuttle begin and also how far is Crossroads from Millennium Park? We are honestly looking for the safest and easiest way to get there and back. We aren't big city people so whatever is the easiest. I trust you guys. lol
  18. I hope it is at least 45 degrees by March 21st.. Going to be in Chicago and don't want it to be so cold we can't walk around
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2014 -> 11:50 AM) The 20 bus is probably the easiest and most direct from Millennium park. The Green line isnt bad either. We get there on a Friday so we will have to see how far the green and blue line are.. How close do they get to the United Center?
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 18, 2014 -> 12:03 AM) Be careful with uber in chicago, I believe their rates flex depending on availability/time. If you dont want a bus, the green line gets you close enough to walk to the building. Since its march, bus should be fine, download the cta app so that you can make sure you get to the bus before its there and you should have no problems. After the game, I usually walk a bit east towards the city and eventually find a cab. Thats why people pay for uber, but i just dont want you to get a $50 bill. Yeah I was looking at reviews and a lot of people complained about that. I would rather not get screwed with a big fare. Is the CTA app pretty spot on about times? Bus seems like the cheapest and maybe easiest way.. I know you can get a taxi but not really a fan and they get expensive..
  21. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 11:37 PM) Have you ever used Uber? If you use their UberX service, it's cheaper than a taxi and generally better service. At least that's how it is in Atlanta. I take it to/from the bars and it costs me $6 to go about 3 miles. I noticed Uber doesn't offer service in St. Louis, so you might not be too familiar. But I figured it's still a good heads up for anyone else reading this thread who doesn't know much about it. I have never heard of it.. I looked it up and checked the fair and it would be $8-9 which is pretty good. How does it work exactly?
  22. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 11:31 PM) Bus would work, there isn't a good way there with the L without walking a bit. Find your way to the 20, which is the Madison bus and will take you right to the doors. Should be 2.25 if using cash. Same 20 bus back going back into the city. 19 is a UC express bus, you can use this as well. Depending on where you are at and can pick it up and what time you leave, this would be quicker. Similar path to the 20. http://www.transitchicago.com/riding_cta/b...spx?RouteId=325 http://www.transitchicago.com/travel_infor...ip_planner.aspx Thank you!! Its a 7 o'clock game so we are planning on getting there as soon as the doors open if possible. Only been to one Bulls game in my life and wanted to look around the UC. Does the 20 bus stop close to the Fairmont Millennium Hotel?
  23. Girlfriend and I are traveling to Chicago on March 21st until 23rd. We are taking a train from St. Louis up there and staying downtown for a couple days. We are both 21 and haven't stayed downtown before but have been there a few times. I can find my away downtown on foot but we are going to the Bulls game that Saturday and will need to go from our hotel to the United Center which is a little over 3 miles away. We figured the best way to do that is the bus but we aren't sure how it works, how much it is, etc... Or if there is a better way to get there. Any tips would be great and also some restaurants we should go to. We are staying close to Millennium Park so some places to go that are within walking distance would be great! Thanks guys!
  24. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 01:03 AM) Question for you tech guys I had MLBTV last year and it worked fine where I was at until I visited Chicago for a week and brought my lap top. I came back to Missouri and try to use MLBTV to watch a Sox game and I was told I was blacked out. I called MLBTV up and eventually saw my IP address was going through Indiana.. They told me to unplug my router and modem but that didn't help. So they mainly gave me access and it worked for a few weeks until I went to Michigan and brought my lap top. I came back and again I was being blacked out because my IP said I was in Indiana when I was in Missouri. Called MLBTV again and they said I needed to contact my ISP. I did that and the guy said he never heard of that. He made me unplug everything and reset it and it didn't work and told me to contact MLBTV because every other IP address site said I was in Missouri so it must be MLBTV. I pretty much gave up watching the game on my lap top because it was such a pain in the ass. Anyone know how to fix this so I don't have to deal with it this year again?? When I look up my IP through MLB it says 33603 which is Tampa, FL which is new. Last year it was Indiana. When I use what is my IP it has me at the right city I live in. What the heck is going on!?! Just went on the website to look at it again and apparently I am in Sacramento, California now.. MLBTV is messed up. I am kind of hoping it stays though because I am usually blacked out for games against KC and this way I can still watch those games
  25. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 15, 2014 -> 02:24 AM) This means the OS Full Minors roster won't be out until like, July. No, the rosters can be used on every platform so I think they will start it on the PS3 April and hopefully it is done by the time it comes out on PS4
