  1. I want to say all of Laurence Holmes, Scott Merkin. Chuck Garfien and Jason Benetti all went there. The school is really well-regarded and has programs for media and other arts that have been recognized.

One of our mutual friends (Diet Coke Michigan) said 2 more. I get you points though and they are definitely in line with Sox past history.

I feel like Cease could have one more start in Charlotte after this but it cannot be long. What else does he have to prove. He has an era thats less than half of the rest of the rotation mainstays at AAA lol
  4. I like the Astros draft so far. Shocking.
  5. Second highest payroll in baseball...
  6. To further confuse things, its Brennan Malone.
  7. Dalquist is for sure over slot. I think Thompson may be under - even if just a tad.
  8. I wonder how much overslot this is here. I guess well see if the Sox punt any picks in the next few rounds.
  9. It's simply unbelievable that Reynolds has kept the job so long when it seems like everyone hates his analysis.

Okay put weight into 29 game sample splits then. I think it's a fools errand. Robert has also hit 0 HRs in 5 game at Chattanooga which is the best power hitters park in the league by far. I doubt you would argue that would be indicative of him having lesser power. My point is these tiny samples being broken down into splits aren't really useful for evaluation. I think you understand that so I am not sure what you're taking exception to.

He's only started 29 games in Bham I wouldnt get caught up in splits at this point.
  12. I really doubt any scenario that isn't Rutschman-Witt 1-2 but just out of curiosity, if Sox had their pick between Witt and Vaughn, who do you all prefer?
  13. Okay thanks good talk.
  14. That's great but nothing in my post said anything about the White Sox and their strategy. Just illustrating the point that there are organizations that put weight into the relative age of high schoolers. I think there is validity there.
  15. His power is legit but there are a lot of teams that get hung up on DOBs for highschoolers in particular. Look at the Indians draft history of recent.

I drove a top of the line, fully-loaded 2018 Tesla Model S and was absolutely floored. I am not a car guy but that thing was incredible. 100k should get you a nice car but going 0-60 in seconds without making any noises was something unimaginable. I've been in a few corvettes, a viper, a lotus, a 2018 Ford GT (second best car I've ever been in), the LE hellcat challenger and a few different Shelby mustangs - the Tesla S series blows them all away. Full disclosure I am a car idiot.
  17. I am not a fan. It seems like Abrams isn't willing to take a discount. Of course today they could figure out if he doesnt go to Sox he could fall to 6. They're a ~$1.5M difference between those picks. You would think there would be some give from Abrams there.
  18. Would not like. Dude is really, really old for a high schooler.
  19. I still think its important for the Sox to save money. Whether its a 100k or 500k that is the goal. They Rutschman/Witt to fall and if they don't I would expect the Sox to save some cash.
  20. Weird that if truly between the college bat Vaughn and prep bat Abrams it seems they are high-risk, decent reward and medium-risk, high reward respectively.
  21. Wow the overrating of Leury is pretty strong here. I never really picked up on that in the past. IMO, Leury would have a less than 50% shot at a multi year deal. If some team saw enough in him to offer a multi-year deal, it would be something like 2 years 7 million or something - not 4-30.
  22. Sox werent going to tender him a deal but he wouldnt accept it and said he would come back better and they were so moved by his plea they gave him a deal. He's filled in pretty admirably considering all that. Given the Sox influx of young positional players coming, I would imagine he's traded in July if a playoff team likes him. He'd be a good 24/25th guy with defensive versatility, great speed and a decent bat.
