How can you not be excited about the potential of slotting Will Middlebrooks and JBJ in your every day lineup for the next 5 years?

I think this ends up being the big trade of the offseason regardless of which team it ends up being. Hoping it's the Rockies, but have a feeling it'll end up being the Reds.

Why not? He would fit the foundation and time frame the Sox are looking at, he could be put in RF to move Avi to LF, and then you can bat him 3rd and put Abreu where he is a better fit in the 4 hole. The price would probably be substantial, but I don't really see the negatives in going after talent like him. Make him a legitimate extension offer and act like a team that sees their window open. Don't waste these productive years from Abreu, Sale, and Q.

If people think Shark is going to get 18-20 a year, I think I'd much rather just sign Scherzer for a couple million more AAV and keep the specs.

I'd be much more interested in a guy like Upton coming back to the Sox if they are giving up top specs. He fits their model much better than Shark. A lineup of something like: Eaton Semien Upton Abreu LaRoche Avi Gillaspie Alexei Flowers Looks legits

Really hope Anderson isn't going anywhere, would think him and Rodon are untouchable unless the package is huge.

Please don't trade usable assets away for a year of Shark.
