Jose Abreu

The Rosenthal tweet was well before the WSD/Bilek tidbits though

The bold part is the biggest factor as to why I think a SoxFest announcement could be wise, but I agree with those who think Machado is way too high profile to keep under wraps like that. I could see a Pederson trade being announced there, though

They also won more championships in October of 2005 than non-October months of 2005.

too soon

Tonight was the corporate partnership party at the stadium (which Hahn was at, according to Chili). The scoreboard was lit up for it according to Luis Robert's Instagram story.

Obviously am not a big believer in J. Michael Robertson's sources but it would make sense to trade Laz Rivera

It's an MLBTradeRumors commenter account but I think he was joking anyway.

Haven't been able to catch up on this thread but I will say that Hahn was not at the STH event, and he was there last year

Yes

He’s there tomorrow from 3-7

Might as well lock up the thread and go home now.

I wonder what surprises he would actually be aware of that weren't Machado related

I disagree, I think this means that a Joc trade has been agreed to already

I'll link to it without embedding so as to not scare anyone. ***this is fake*** https://twitter.com/jmrobertson143/status/1088260669504438278

There are a few tonight but I'm gonna refrain from posting them since they're from accounts with 0 followers

And some people aren't miserable unless they're happy.

A few of those signings and the Charlotte Knights bullpen would be 2nd or 3rd best if it were in the AL Central

They'll sign a starting pitcher. Rick Hahn himself practically guaranteed it. If I had to guess, one of Wade Miley or Gio Gonzalez. There are still plenty of cheap #5 types available

Absolutely not the case

Only would make sense in the scenario in the post I quoted where the price on Joc gets much higher. I would rather have Joc but not if he ends up costing more than the relative value of that 2nd round pick

At some point, if our goal is to shore up CF until Robert is ready, it would just make more sense to sign Pollock for 2 years
