  1. He joins Zeke Bonura as the only Sox player to have 5 home run in his first 15 career games.
  2. Scoring change for Dunning. Now only 1 run of his was earned.
  3. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 09:12 PM) I dont think there are any minor leaguers I would trade for Jimenez. I would consider Acuna (as was said already) and maybe Vlad Jr, but that's it.
  4. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 07:45 PM) Moncada hr!! I think somebody should eat crow about a certain player that he judged too harshly.
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 04:24 PM) This isn't a fair comparison considering Yolmer has played the majority of his season at 2b. Davidson is a much better hitter. In addition, Yolmer has been regressing offensively while Davidson has been pretty steady.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 02:28 PM) I had my last one (Will Arnett) for something like 7 years. The Gob avatar was an institution here. I miss it
  7. It's shocking how many people still can't accept that they lost the Civil War. Nothing about it is American, what they're honoring is American traitors. We should get a Benedict Arnold statute to put with them, too.
  8. Delmonico's lack of defensive ability is obviously a concern but he looks very comfortable at the plate against MLB pitching. 11 game hitting streak, 13 game on base streak (every game of his career). Gotta love it.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 12:06 AM) Petricka is just ungodly bad. Rather see Fulmer out of the pen With Rodon, Lopez, Hansen, Dunning, Giolito, Kopech, Stephens, Guerrero, whoever else I'm forgetting, a potential FA signing, etc, chances are we'll be fine finding 5 starters. We might as well convert him to a reliever soon where I think he can be excellent.
  10. I was surprised to learn that, while his 2016 and 2017 splits show that he's a much better hitter from the left side, Moncada's 2015 splits were the opposite. At least it gives me hope that he'll become adequate from the right side. His 2015 splits were: As a lefty: .262/.379/.374 for a .753 OPS As a righty: .310/.381/.570 for a .951 OPS
  11. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 11:46 PM) Then we should have looked elsewhere. I just don't know how, in the 2017 draft, we seized on this idea of low-K types, but less than a year earlier, when making the most important trade in recent history, we ignored that aspect when choosing our top prize. If you'd rather have Robles and Giolito than Moncada and Kopech then I don't know what to tell you. Nobody else was ponying up anything that good for Sale.
  12. It seemed like Utley was trying to get HBP on the first pitch
  13. Don't know if that was a legit double play. 1B may have caught it off the bag
  14. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 11:31 PM) Did he just say s-h-i-t? Yes lol
  15. Delmonico is everything Schwarber is supposed to be
  16. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 11:43 AM) It reminds me of how skewed NCAA BB recruiting gets. A kid is ranked 50 and he signs w Kentucky and next ranking he drops to 20. Moncada was clearly ranked higher 3rd than Benintendi 15th going into 2016 season. By the end of 2016, after each got called up that changed. Rankings are very subjective. Some are very accurate and some are not. Well there's why. Benintendi had a better 2016 than Moncada so the rankings changed.
  17. QUOTE (Quin @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 11:03 AM) It was after Rose's injuries that they just went full on terrible. And as good as Hahn is at maximizing asset return, GarPax is the exact opposite. IMO they were terrible before that. When you have a MVP leading his team to the ECF, you can't expect to win with Keith Bogans in your starting lineup. I still believe that an adequate starting shooting guard was all that team needed, and management failed to get one both in the offseason and at the trade deadline.
  18. QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 06:37 AM) Jose, what are we talking about here? That's why the Pirates let him go (as well as his performance). http://piratesbreakdown.com/2017/01/07/pit...ns-alen-hanson/
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 05:01 PM) Toe soreness? Honestly, probably not a bad idea. With Hanson's ego issues, I feel like you'd basically be cutting him by putting him on a phantom DL stint.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 04:51 PM) Ain't gonna happen. I'd be blown away if the Kopech throws a pitch in the majors before next September, and actually surprised if he even pitches for the Sox at all next season. 2019 is the year. Really? I could definitely see him dominating AAA next year (even in that ballpark) and forcing our hand in June/July.
