  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:14 PM) No, seems slow to me I think he's pretty fast overall but Smith has been slow in giving him signs at times. He's not Buehrle fast, but still pretty good.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:09 PM) That's not luck, Hosmer is a good 1b I thought he had regressed hard defensively
  3. QUOTE (ReyLo @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:07 PM) Continue to be so impressed by Kevan Smith. Such a shame he lost time last year. I think both Smith and Narvaez are good options for backup catchers when we're good
  4. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 05:28 PM) After reading this asinine "preview" from RR I'm ready to sweep their asses: https://www.royalsreview.com/2017/8/11/1612...s-derek-holland What a royal jackass that author is. If you're going to be painfully unfunny at least don't be a Royals fan as well. Last I checked, the Royals played in Missouri- not England. He has no place to talk.
  5. Yeah, one of our best relievers who happens to be a lefty? Unexpected.
  6. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 10:25 AM) Interestingly enough Stephens and Hansen also scheduled to start tonight. I am mildly surprised neither of them are getting promoted. They both really deserve it.
  7. I like the "PTBNL" one on Oakland.
  8. Don't like the red-ness of them.
  9. Delmonico seems to have a much better approach than I thought. His defense, though...
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 04:40 PM) What measurement do you want to use? In 2015, Tyrod Taylor was tied for 7th in passer rating, Cutler was 16th. Taylor's completion percentage was 63.7%, Cutler's 64.4%. At the same time, Taylor's Y/A was 8 versus Cutler's 7.6. Taylor's TD:INT was 20:6, Cutler's 21:11. Taylor's QBR was 70.3, Cutler's 65.9. About the only area Cutler really outplayed Taylor was 4th quarter comebacks, and he has been pretty good in the clutch throughout his career. Meanwhile, in 2016, Cutler was awful and he got hurt, while Taylor was merely mediocre while maintaining a very low turnover rate. I don't see how anyone can say with any legitimacy that Jay Cutler is a better QB than Tyrod Taylor other than wearing orange tinted glasses. I love Taylor and think that he's very underrated, but I still think that Cutler would have better numbers than Taylor overall had he not been stuck with a garbage offensive line, constant injuries to his receivers, a new offensive coordinator every two seconds, etc.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 4, 2017 -> 07:19 PM) Trump called WH a dump. I'm surprised by the relative lack of publicity this comment got. Can you imagine the Republican outrage had Obama said this?
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 4, 2017 -> 07:08 PM) In the three days Soxtalk was down, this happened Mueller impaneled a grand jury Mueller subpoenaed Jr and Manafort Flynn changed his disclosure form to include his work with Cambridge Analytics Congress forced Trump to sign the Russian sanctions Trump whined mightily about those sanctions Russia basically called Trump weak and said he handed power to congress Congress voted unanimously that there would be no recess appointments Transcripts of Trumps January calls with Mexico and Australia leaked, and they made Trump look super bad I know I missed some things But then the Boy Scouts called him to express their love and admiration for him, so it's all good.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 4, 2017 -> 10:57 PM) The guy picked right after him in the draft averages 14.94 K over every 9 AB too. *applause*
  14. Profar would be a great get, but 2B is obviously taken up, and when Cordell is healthy, it would be hard to find MLB playing time for him (assuming Avi is back, Leury is healthy, etc.)
  15. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Aug 1, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) This is great news. Someone said he would be in the US in September. Not sure the source, but if it's true I could see him playing in the AFL. That would be cool. The source was Robert himself
  16. Random thought, but I didn't realize how close Luis Robert and Eloy Jimenez are in age.
  17. I know his innings are limited since he has never had a full season's workload, but my god, he's killing it. His improvements throughout the year, especially in the K:BB department, have been incredible. When Lopez gets the call to Chicago, will Kopech be the one taking his place, even if it's just for a bit?
