  1. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 10:25 AM) Interestingly enough Stephens and Hansen also scheduled to start tonight. I am mildly surprised neither of them are getting promoted. They both really deserve it.
  2. I like the "PTBNL" one on Oakland.
  3. Don't like the red-ness of them.
  4. Delmonico seems to have a much better approach than I thought. His defense, though...

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 04:40 PM) What measurement do you want to use? In 2015, Tyrod Taylor was tied for 7th in passer rating, Cutler was 16th. Taylor's completion percentage was 63.7%, Cutler's 64.4%. At the same time, Taylor's Y/A was 8 versus Cutler's 7.6. Taylor's TD:INT was 20:6, Cutler's 21:11. Taylor's QBR was 70.3, Cutler's 65.9. About the only area Cutler really outplayed Taylor was 4th quarter comebacks, and he has been pretty good in the clutch throughout his career. Meanwhile, in 2016, Cutler was awful and he got hurt, while Taylor was merely mediocre while maintaining a very low turnover rate. I don't see how anyone can say with any legitimacy that Jay Cutler is a better QB than Tyrod Taylor other than wearing orange tinted glasses. I love Taylor and think that he's very underrated, but I still think that Cutler would have better numbers than Taylor overall had he not been stuck with a garbage offensive line, constant injuries to his receivers, a new offensive coordinator every two seconds, etc.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 4, 2017 -> 07:19 PM) Trump called WH a dump. I'm surprised by the relative lack of publicity this comment got. Can you imagine the Republican outrage had Obama said this?
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 4, 2017 -> 07:08 PM) In the three days Soxtalk was down, this happened Mueller impaneled a grand jury Mueller subpoenaed Jr and Manafort Flynn changed his disclosure form to include his work with Cambridge Analytics Congress forced Trump to sign the Russian sanctions Trump whined mightily about those sanctions Russia basically called Trump weak and said he handed power to congress Congress voted unanimously that there would be no recess appointments Transcripts of Trumps January calls with Mexico and Australia leaked, and they made Trump look super bad I know I missed some things But then the Boy Scouts called him to express their love and admiration for him, so it's all good.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 4, 2017 -> 10:57 PM) The guy picked right after him in the draft averages 14.94 K over every 9 AB too. *applause*
  9. Profar would be a great get, but 2B is obviously taken up, and when Cordell is healthy, it would be hard to find MLB playing time for him (assuming Avi is back, Leury is healthy, etc.)
  10. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Aug 1, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) This is great news. Someone said he would be in the US in September. Not sure the source, but if it's true I could see him playing in the AFL. That would be cool. The source was Robert himself
  11. Random thought, but I didn't realize how close Luis Robert and Eloy Jimenez are in age.
  12. I know his innings are limited since he has never had a full season's workload, but my god, he's killing it. His improvements throughout the year, especially in the K:BB department, have been incredible. When Lopez gets the call to Chicago, will Kopech be the one taking his place, even if it's just for a bit?
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 10:48 PM) All hit/no field players dont' have much value in today's game. I know. I guess I'm just more sold than most on the potential in his bat. And, you never know, there's a chance he still makes it somewhere in the field.
  14. Daryl Van Schouwen‏Verified account @CST_soxvan Willy Garcia was KOd but "I feel much better now." Wasn't aware of what happened until he saw video of collision with Moncada
  15. Dan Hayes‏Verified account @CSNHayes Yoan Moncada's injury is strictly a muscle issue, no MRI is necessary.#WhiteSox Ok now I'm good.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 10:23 PM) But so is Yu Darvish Sure, but once people look past his name and realize that he's not having a very good season, maybe my viewpoint would make more sense. 3 months of mediocrity in the form of a once dominant pitcher is obviously not cheap, but Calhoun's potential is as high as can be for a DH type. Sure, his value takes a hit by his lack of real position, but it is extremely rare for somebody to have the potential to not only be a power hitter with a high average, but to also take many walks and rarely strike out. That combination is almost unheard of and can be lethal.
  17. I was feeling relieved about the injury before being reminded that Schwarber had a "knee contusion" last year that ended up being a season ending torn ACL/LCL. re: Willy, I'm probably one of his biggest fans on the board and was initially upset at the thought of him not having these next couple months to prove himself. Hopefully he won't need much time to come back
  18. What a turnaround from a nightmare to a fun game. Gotta love baseball
  19. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 06:01 PM) Calhoun does not really have a defensive position and grades poorly in the field and with arm strength. He's likely a dh long term. Right, but a DH with his hitting potential is still valuable IMO.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 03:59 PM) He's an interesting guy, and definitely one the Sox should be taking a look at. Problem is, he kind of sucks. He plays many positions and is slashing .284/.338/.418 with a .756 OPS. I too think that he can be a good utility player.
