White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (Deadpool @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) Depends what we get back for Sale. I'm not really for this, but if you were able to get Mazara and Profar, that's a "win in the next couple of years" move. That would mean Garcia is out (Mazara plays OF), Melky could go to DH, and Profar can play a number of positions. I'm not saying I like that idea, but there are ways in which the Sox could only trade Sale. I mean, wouldn't our rotation suck then? Quintana Shields Rodon Gonzalez Ranaudo? Yuck.

IMO the extra year of control makes Quintana just as valuable as Sale. I know teams won't see it that way, but it's not like Sale is that much better.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:58 AM) Ok four hours left. One per hour...Robertson, Shields, Melky, and end it with a huge package of players from LA for Q. Sale to Boston or NY in the offseason. In a perfect world...

White Sox Listening on Sale
Boston has some positions that are set long-term, those being held by Pedroia, Betts, and Bogaerts. Moncada could move to third, sure, but then you have Devers who would also come up and play... what, DH then?

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:52 AM) Jayson StarkVerified account @jaysonst A source who said yesterday the chances of Chris Sale getting dealt were under 5 percent says again this morning "under 5 percent" My thoughts- if this is really the case, and DD is that certain to not give in, then maybe we should stop wasting our time there and focus on Robertson/Frazier/Melky/Shields/Gonzalez/Quintana trades.

Meanwhile, I hope we're working on trades for Shields/Gonzalez/Robertson/Frazier/Melky

White Sox Listening on Sale
Dombrowski always caves, so I do think Benintendi/Moncada is a possibility

White Sox Listening on Sale
Basically in the last 12 hours it went from "it won't happen, 1% chance" to "eh" to "maybe" to "oh wow this could be happening", at least from insiders.

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 24s25 seconds ago Source: #RedSox pushing hardest to acquire #WhiteSox’s Sale. No indication trade will happen. “Late-night talks,” per @BNightengale.

White Sox Listening on Sale
If they really go no-Moncada, then it would have to be: Sale and Robertson for Benintendi, Devers, Kopech, Rodriguez, Travis, Swihart, Dubon, Ball...

White Sox Listening on Sale
Apologies if this has been posted, but this guy is legit Scot Gregor @scotgregor Would be stunned if both Sale and Quintana are still on #WhiteSox roster later today

Specific Trade Ideas
Final prediction is the FO basically fails us by standing pat, aside from the Duke trade and, I'll say Robertson to Boston for Michael Chavis

White Sox Listening on Sale
Last year I had like 250 posts on deadline day, copy-pasted over 100 insider tweets here, etc... I do plan on doing it again tomorrow. One of my favorite times of the year honestly

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) Can anybody hack Hahn's Fitbit and see if he has gone to sleep yet tonight? Hahn tends to strike late at night... like from now until 1 AM. Melky, Robertson, Lawrie, Samardzija, etc.
-
Hahn
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:39 PM) Shields is having a bad year. Hahn trades 2 prospects for him and gets the money cut by 50%. Upton is having a very good year; Jays trade 1 prospect (similar to Tatis, if that) and get the money cut by 2/3. That is just one example that makes me wonder about the negotiation skill of this front office. Yes, you can come up with reasons (one is a pitcher). But there are other examples. I don't think those situations are as comparable as you outlined them to be. Markets were drastically different.

White Sox Listening on Sale
The lack of rumors is kind of puzzling.

Sox are going to blow this, aren't they?
Yes, they are going to blow it. I know there's still time but it would be so unlike us to make big trades. Maybe a Robertson one but that's all. Hope I'm wrong.

Pete Abraham @PeteAbe 2m2 minutes ago The fact they're meeting in the dugout in full view of several beat writers would seem to suggest nothing is imminent. But we'll see. Pete Abraham @PeteAbe 6m6 minutes ago Meeting now expanded to include Frank Wren, Allard Baird and Brian O'Halloran. Pete Abraham @PeteAbe 14m14 minutes ago Dave Dombrowski, Mike Hazen and John Farrell now meeting in Anaheim.

White Sox trade Zach Duke to the STL Cardinals
QUOTE (Bruce_Blixton @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 12:26 PM) A difficult proposition for someone growing up in the North Shore. That's what I said, but a Cardinals article written when he was drafted assured fans that he did not grow up a Cubs fan, but rather a White Sox fan

White Sox Listening on Sale
With Robertson as good as gone now, I wonder if it's in a package with Sale
-
Robertson on Nats radar
Robertson was the lone Sox reliever to not warm up before the game today.
