Wow, two Rons in the same thread saying the same thing over and over, and starting new threads once the first one dies... kinda makes you think...

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 07:16 PM) I think it's no replay after replay but he shoulda still argued it a little bit. Like yesterday after Contreras' takeout slide -

QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 05:53 PM) Oh, Kenny. You never change. To quote Buster Bluth... "It's like he gets off on being withholding." Glad you didn't quote the rest of that conversation, or you'd definitely be banned -
Chapman tells media he had just woken up from a nap when he talked via phone to Cubs management about off-field conduct, so he had no recollection of what they said. What an idiot.

The Possibility of the Curve Ball from the Sox...

You never know with Reinsdorf, but I really do hope we sell. But if we don't, I'd rather buy than stand pat. Doing nothing is the worst thing we could do, and I fear we'll end up doing it for 2 years in a row, especially if we keep up this hot streak. -
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 04:26 PM) Monday is going to be crazy it's going to be tough to work. Oh s*** month end close lol When I heard the deadline was 8/1 instead of 7/31 this year, I requested 8/1 off from work. This was like, 5 months ago. Very happy with that decision I remember last year I had like 246 posts or something crazy like that on Soxtalk on 7/31, most of which were credible tweets that I'd post right when they were tweeted (I have quite the set-up on trade deadline days). Lots of people were thankful, so I think I'll do that again this year.

Given the SP market and that Betts/Bradley/Bogaerts are likely off the table, if Sale doesn't net you both Moncada and Benintendi, then we might as well just keep him.

Genius marketing by the Sox to give a presale code to those who join the Black List. Really reaches out to the younger demographics. -

I'm ok if we sweep this series and then play .200 baseball for the rest of the year, thus securing a top draft pick -

QUOTE (Sox Fan In Husker Land @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) Q is an elite pitcher. The only thing he doesn't have is W's next to his name. Hell, Sunday he went 6 2/3 0 runs 1 BB 3 H and he got an ND. If that doesn't sum up his career as a Sox pitcher, I don't know what does. Since his 1st full season as a starter his #s are elite among pitchers. 2013 - 3.5 fWAR 30th overall (15th in AL) 2014 - 5.1 fWAR 10th overall (8th in AL) 2015 - 4.8 fWAR 14th overall (6th in AL) 2016 - 3.2 fWAR 9th overall (on pace for 5.1 fWAR), (3rd in AL) Look at his trajectory among AL pitchers 15th, 8th, 6th, 3rd. He's 27, easy delivery, no signs of arm issues, and locked up cheap as hell for the next 4 years. MLB pitching leaders in fWAR from 2013 - today: Kershaw 28.9 fWAR. 4 years 141 left million contract. 28 years old. Scherzer 20.7 fWAR. 5 years 170 million left on contract. 32 years old. Price 19.8 fWAR 6 years 187 million left on contract. 30, will be 31 in August. Kluber 19.4 fWAR 5 years 59.1 million (could increase to 70.9) left on contract. 30 years old. Sale 19.1 fWAR 3 years 38 million left on contract. 27 years old. Quintana 16.5 fWAR 4 years 37.85 million left on contract. 27 years old. Both Sale and Q should bring back a huge bounty if one is traded. If there are no MLB proven young players thrown into the trade I do not see how they can take anything less than 3 top 50 prospects, and 2 more top 100 prospects for one of Sale or Q. Very well put

I think Kopech/Devers/E. Rodriguez could easily be attained from a Sale/Robertson combo. But then I think we get 2 out of 3 of Betts/Moncada/Benintendi. I feel as if they'll do everything possible to not give us one of the 3 B's, but maybe they'll cave if we get some good leverage.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:09 AM) Clubs talking with Red Sox say they're still trying to do "something big." But for what high-end starter? Chris Sale? Sonny Gray? Mystery P? https://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/757592639252238336 A 5.49 ERA pitcher is a "high-end" starter? That's more than just a down year for someone I'd consider high-end.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) That reminds me of tweets from college recruits that are like "can't decide what I want" and people are like OH NO HES DECOMMITTING and he's talking about a drive thru. Or during late 2014 Samardzija trade rumors, when Tim Anderson tweeted sad emojis, and everyone here assumed he had been traded to Oakland

I saw an insider tweet yesterday saying that the Sox will receive an insanely large package in exchange for Quintana, so I don't know what Heyman is talking about
