  1. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 10:25 PM) Saladino was running on the 0-1 pitch? I hope that was a double steal Well, a delayed steal at third, but that would be risky in the 9th

  3. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 10:19 PM) I don't get why Abreu wasn't bunting there? +1
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 10:14 PM) I agree but I was going to say I like that all our guys hustle down the line for the most part Most of our guys yeah. Sometimes, I notice an annoying lack of hustle from Melky and Abreu on grounders, and even from Eaton recently
  5. I respect JB Shuck for always hustling. He does so more than anyone on the team
  6. Yeah, we shouldn't throw Morneau in the cleanup spot right away.
  7. Still don't understand why we don't give him the Sunday spot start and then put him in the bullpen. Can't hurt.
  8. Oh, and speaking of relievers, #DFAAlbers
  9. His 2nd half ERA in 2015 was lowest in baseball. His overall ERA was greatly skewed due to a couple outings in which he allowed many runs after our bullpen was completely empty and he was forced to stay in and throw far too many pitches. This year, he has a 1.60 ERA and has been very effective in preventing inherited runners from scoring. To think that we got our best reliever (I'd surely take him over Jones, Robertson, Duke, etc.) for Andre Rienzo, currently in AAA for Miami, is laughable.
  10. Davidson could return in September at the earliest
  11. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 05:17 PM) Kahnle Ah, didn't realize he was up. I don't get why we can't give Fulmer one start for Rodon and then send him to the 'pen.
  12. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) Turner is starting Sunday Source? We'd have to send someone down to make that happen.
  13. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 03:40 PM) No offense, but when your second good month is an OPS barely above .800, that's a bit concerning. I'm not writing off Abreu by any means, but the dude needs to at least put 2015 type numbers or we are f***ed. We really haven't seen much of that player this year and until we do, there's nothing wrong with posters being worried. To be fair, the July OPS isn't quite relevant due to the small amount of games played
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) Is the market for RF any better? Please nobody say Markakis Regardless of an answer, I'd be reluctant to move Eaton's glove from RF
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) You doubt Shuck sustains that but are confident Jason Bourgeouis can? Shuck has been the perfect reserve OF for us since last year. He hasn't hit for much slugging but gets on base. My point is basically that with the way he's performing, Bourgeois at least needs a chance. I keep expecting him to fall off, but he keeps hitting and hitting
  16. QUOTE (VAfan @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 02:35 PM) Abreu is unfortunately no longer clearly part of the solution. Maybe, hopefully, he'll find a way to turn it around. Because if he doesn't, replacing Garcia isn't going to make a whit of difference. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 06:50 PM) Realistically he got off to a horrible start, and has trended back to his usual self over the last couple of months. Historically his worst two months with the White Sox are April and May. The last thing we need is another irrational panic about Abreu thread. Here is his OPS by month this year: April .657 May .711 June .885 July .807 OPS+ by month April 82 May 94 June 131 July 114 Batting average by month April .229 May .252 June .306 July .351
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 02:34 PM) Since Jackson hurt his knee, Shuck is hitting .299 with an OPS over .800. I doubt he sustains that
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 02:03 PM) The next time a 34 year old breaks out in the major leagues, let me know. I'm not expecting him to "break out", but when a guy is doing as ridiculously well in the minors as he is, he deserves the chance to hit in the majors. I think he could be better than Shuck.
