  1. Royals collide again. Gordon/Moustakas lost from the last one, and now Perez looks pretty hurt
  2. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) I heard Erik Johnson and Fernando Tatis mentioned in return yesterday. Interesting thing about Shields: He can opt-out after season and Sox would receive a comp pick. He's owed $21 million this year, next year, and in 2018. 2019 $2 million buyout. I don't think he'd opt out because teams would be foolish to pay him $42 million over the next two years
  3. He's owed (pending an opt-out) about $63 million through the 2018 season. He's 34 with declining fastball velocity and peripherals that do not match his ERA. I'd really hope we at least get off the hook on some of that $63 mil.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:38 PM) I assumed it would be Erik Johnson and an international signee prospect Would that be enough for them to give us cash in return
  5. QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) Keith Law said, Tim Anderson is available for a SP... *shrugs* I really, really hope that this would be for a pitcher much better/less pricey than Shields
  6. QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:34 PM) Fulmer? Guy wont sniff majors this year. Latos/Miggy. I know he's pitching horribly right now (Fulmer), but don't be surprised if he does get called up this year, even before September
  7. Despite my general negative attitude on this potential acquisition, I will say that Sale Quintana Shields Rodon Latos/Fulmer looks a hell of a lot better than what we currently have.
  8. Good. His velocity is down and his peripherals aren't as encouraging as his oft-cited ERA, however
  9. QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:28 PM) Dennis Lin on twitter: @sdutdennislin Sources: Padres, White Sox discussing James Shields trade. Unclear if deal is imminent, but talks have "energy" Alright, a more reliable source. I'd only be down for this trade if they pay a lot of his backloaded salary
  10. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ May 28, 2016 -> 02:26 PM) Would like to see the exit velocity on that. 113 MPH
  11. Avi actually isn't the worst DH in the world by the numbers
  12. Please no more Avila and please more Saladino over Rollins
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 27, 2016 -> 10:28 PM) Players respect him True, because that is probably the most infuriating aspect of Fred Hoiberg's coaching. Underrated skill.
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 27, 2016 -> 09:24 PM) Unless Brian backs it up, I have zero faith in White Sox Dave. This is the same guy who bet his reputation that Cespedes and the White Sox had finalized a deal this winter, like four times. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 27, 2016 -> 09:27 PM) And with Shields' age, contract, and declining performance, I wouldn't give up anything of value for him. Posted in the other thread but more relevant here ^

  17. QUOTE (Condor13 @ May 26, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) Game 49 Sox @ KC (Thursday) Jackson (5): Cabrera (3): Frazier (1): Condor13 Abreu (1): LTBF, Jose Abreu Sands (4): Lawrie (3): Rollins (5): Garcia (3): Navarro (3):
