QUOTE (GREEDY @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 05:05 PM) If Trayce Thompson plays 150 games in CF next season, where does his defense rank amongst the hypothetical 25 everyday center fielders? My guess is in the 6-12 range.

White Sox mentioned as potential landing spot for Upton

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 05:20 PM) I'd rather have Cespedes or Heyward, as I'm sure most of us would. But if it came down to Upton or Alex Gordon, who would you choose? Gordon, no doubt -
This free agent class isn't good either, though. There's starting pitching, but we have the best starting pitching in the AL

K.C. Johnson @KCJHoop Rose, on if he still has double vision at times: "I'm seeing two of you right now."

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 10:47 AM) Seriously, how long does the pain last from a flu shot. f*** 2 days maximum for me. Only gets longer if I play baseball/tennis the same day or the day after.

I've seen/heard enough about Bartolo Colon in the last 24 hours. f*** that guy... literally disappeared from our team, steroid user, etc.

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 12:29 PM) UZR is nowhere near as harsh about him and I mean, I watch the guy and I dont see anything wrong. He makes the plays he's supposed to and occasionally the one's he's not. He's developed a reputation for being an airhead amongst Cubs fans but as a White Sox fan I'm an expert on airheads and the guy seems to get a bad rap. I think the perception on him is misguided and has a lot to do with his appearance. I'm not saying trade Quintana for him, but if you can some weasel your way into a deal that brings him here I'd be properly excited. His defense isn't as good as you think. The eye test isn't always accurate. And yes, he is an airhead, his hitting has gotten worse and worse, and his contract... yikes.

Samardzija reportedly has no plans to re-sign

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 12:25 PM) Are we sure Cooper is good anymore? Quintana -
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 10:40 AM) According to my dad, AM 1000 is talking Sale and Quintana for Schwarber. Just Schwarber. Cubs fans seem to think that pitchers have far less value than hitters because they "can get injured more".

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 11:59 AM) Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN 6m6 minutes ago Gabe Kapler a serious frontrunner to be the Dodgers manager, as they begin the process. But wait, DeWayne Wise comes out of nowhere and takes the manager position!

Samardzija reportedly has no plans to re-sign
Jose Abreu replied to Jose Abreu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Guys, I'm not saying that Samardzija leading the league in runs allowed alone makes him the worst pitcher in baseball. I'm saying that it's one factor as to why there aren't 24 pitchers who were worse than him, as a poster asserted previously. -
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 08:15 AM) The Bulls need to waive Kirk Hinrich already. The dude has been washed up for years, yet he still has a roster spot. He's the Bulls equivalent of John Danks. I thought the addition of Hoiberg would cut his minutes significantly. Meaning, no more 20+ minute games from him, but we'll see. I'd like Moore to get his minutes, and I think that's what will happen.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 10:47 PM) Royals over Astros in 4 Blue Jays over Rangers in 5 Cubs over Cardinals in 4 Mets over Dodgers in 5 Blue Jays over Royals in 7 Mets over Cubs in 6 Mets over Blue Jays in 6 So I was off by one game with Cubs/Cardinals. And two games with Mets/Cubs. So I just need Toronto to come back in that series, but so far, mine are actually pretty good. All the right teams.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 11:39 AM) Schwarber, Baez and Soler for Sale. Probably would have to substitute Castro for Baez or Soler....making the deal a no go but definitely interesting. Maybe we could throw in Avi and Sanchez/Micah to get Soler back. Ok, you did say Schwarber, but I don't see anything about Russell. So Schwarber, Baez, and Castro for Sale... still a hard pass for the Sox.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 08:26 AM) Caulfield is trading Baez and Soler straight up for Sale, they will be fine No, he said you'd have to substitute Castro for one of them, remember? So Baez and Castro for Sale.

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 08:10 AM) Trading Eaton would be a horrible mistake. He was the second best hitter on the team last year. Yup. Trading from our weaknesses (hitting) would be foolish. Who knows how bad this offense would've been if he didn't bounce back after that bad April. He ended with the 2nd most home runs and the 2nd highest average on the team (14/.287), with Abreu being #1.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 07:02 AM) Nikola? Butler?

Samardzija reportedly has no plans to re-sign
Jose Abreu replied to Jose Abreu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 07:28 AM) Sure you can. Chris Sale gave up more runs than Eric Johnson. I'd take Chris Sale. There are at least a couple pitchers per team that were worse than Samarjdzija. That would make up dozens. Maybe that's because Erik Johnson made 6 starts and did not qualify as an MLB pitcher in 2015? There are definitely not 2+ pitchers per team who were worse than Samardzija. -
If they really want to trade him to free up room for Trayce, then our FO has serious issues.

QUOTE (Ballz-n-Strikes @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 11:12 PM) Dozens...?? That were #1s like him on the team he came from at the start of last year? Ok - Go ahead...list them. "Dozens" he says... That is 24 minimum. This outta be good. Yeah, didn't Samardzija lead the league in total runs allowed...? That alone screams "you can't name 24 pitchers who are worse than me" -
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 11:35 PM) Strongly disagree. Last year their bench was awful, this year it's pretty nice. With the problems the Bulls will have defensively, I actually like the Heat and Bucks more. Just for the record, keeping Noah at C would still equal the same defensive problems, that guy is done. Dragic Wade Deng Bosh Whiteside Green McRoberts Winslow Anderson Chalmers Bucks are really long defensively and they use their defense to create their offense. They kinda remind me of the 90s Bulls teams in terms of length To your last sentence, yes, I like the Bucks too. But come on... that Heat bench is not good at all. Chalmers is trash, Birdman is bad, Winslow is unproven, McRoberts is ok, Green is ok... not even comparable to Brooks/Moore/McDermott/Gibson/Noah. The Bulls, barring major injuries, will definitely be a top-4 seed.
-
QUOTE (Boogua @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) I would group the Heat with the Bulls. McRoberts and Bosh back along with a full offseason with guys like Whiteside and Dragic. Justice Winslow was a steal also. I think the Heat will be pretty good, but their bench is awful compared to ours and Cleveland's.
