  1. QUOTE (shysocks @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 10:15 AM) That's very debatable. Semien's defense alone probably makes a comp pick better than him.
  2. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 10:16 AM) Predictions? It will look just like 2015 did. As long as management remains the same, from KW down to Ventura--why would anybody think things would get better? This team needs a Cubs-like management purge. Until that happens, I have little hope for success. Yeah, this thread was just revived for some reason. We don't even know what the 2016 roster will be like.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 10:07 AM) Last time I checked he wasn't closer to age 25 or under...I should have said rookies or guys with 250 or less career at-bats or whatever. The reason I said this is because you included Rizzo, who has been a Major Leaguer for 5 seasons.
  4. McDermott to come off the bench this season (or for now, at least), according to Hoiberg. He hinted at this starting lineup for the regular season: Rose Butler Snell Mirotic Gasol
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 01:21 AM) 1. Bryant 2. Rizzo 3. Russell 4. Schwarber 5. Soler 6. Ian Happ #9 pick in first round 7. Baez 8. Gleyber Torres We don't even have ONE player that would come close to cracking that list on the position player side. Tim Anderson would be a distant 8th or maybe even 9th...and I might very well be underrating Torres. And some Cubs' fans would/could make arguments for Billy McKinney, Almora and Eloy Jimenez. Yeah, Jose Abreu is no Gleyber Torres!
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 07:40 AM) The cold weather is certainly more favorable to pitchers. It's supposed to be nice out here the next few days. However, the pitching match ups are unfavorable for the Cubs. They needed at least one in New York. Cold weather is tough for hitters, but it's definitely not great for pitchers either. Not as big of an advantage as the first two games would lead you to believe. It's supposed to be like 72 here in Chicago today. Probably will be similarly warm tomorrow, as you stated.
  7. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 11:15 PM) That has to be a troll account, right? Also, the big storyline in this series is the Mets' arms vs. the Cubs' bats, and while the Cubs' offense had a great 2nd half, the Mets' offense was actually better over that time period. Nope, he is (sadly) very real.
  8. Oh no! The Mets should be trembling with fear! Joe Maddon is going to use his magical powers to defeat them!
  9. Weirdest play ever. I thought it was a shot at the Patriots. You know, that controversial play from the playoffs last year. "Read the rulebook"
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 09:26 PM) Jason Mastrodonato ‏@JMastrodonato 3h3 hours ago One rival exec fairly certain the Red Sox are going to blow up their farm system. "Dave is going to make some moves. He'll be busy." Jason Mastrodonato ‏@JMastrodonato 3h3 hours ago Amazing to hear other execs talk about Red Sox' farm system and just gush over it. It's not just the prospect gurus who do the rankings. Any money we hear Chris Sale to Boston again? Or Q to Boston this winter? Don't think we'll be able to handle all of the "BREAKING: Red Sox acquire Chris Sale for [insert Red Sox #27 prospect here]" tweets, or the "C'mon Red Sox, get Sale! They'll take him for Owens!" type-tweets
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 10:25 PM) Just heard the first excuse. It was cold outside. Was hoping Soler would break this out.
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 10:18 PM) #WeAreGood is such a lame and crappy team-related hashtag. It annoys the hell out of me. Yeah, I don't get it. It's just stupid. And now there are "#WeAreGood" t-shirts
  13. Weird to see Addison Reed in the LCS. I know he wasn't great as a closer, but he was stellar at times, and he's a hell of a lot better than Davidson.
  14. It was really our own playcalling in OT that did us in. Too conservative
  15. I guess in the future, when we look back (draft postition) it will be a good thing that we lost this game.
  16. Our playcalling has been too predictable during OT.
  17. "Who is responsible for redesigning the Lions uniforms to make it look like they're all sweating profusely?"
  18. Part of me was hoping we went for it. 4th and inches, a classic QB sneak... but Fox definitely isn't a risk taker
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) That was a hell of a job by Cutler and Alshon to drive down with only 20 seconds. Could've scored a TD if there wasn't a 10 second runoff on that grounding call.
  20. Why do the Bears fall victim to a fake punt every season
  21. It should be 31-20 right now. 7 points off the board due to the INT, but 4 additional points on the board due to the TD called back due to Calvin Johnson's PI (they settled for a FG).
