QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 06:14 PM) Due to his horrible play though. He was garbage today, everything up in the zone Oh, got it. Thanks.

Just started watching, but weren't his runs unearned?

QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 03:31 PM) Looks like Brett Cecil is going to miss the rest of the postseason. Would be nice if Mark Buehrle was able to take his spot on the roster. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 02:29 PM) steve simmons @simmonssteve 54m54 minutes ago NO BUEHRLE: Jays add Ryan Tepera to playoff roster to replace the injured Brett Cecil.

Sox got back almost nothing from break up of 2012 squad

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 04:28 PM) DeAza garbage. Viciedo garbage. Youk. Beckham. 36 year old Konerko. Adam Dunn hit .204. Couple guys had unexpectedly good years and the position players were still 16th in WAR. You lost credibility right off the bat. Look at their stats and then try and back this up. Notice I didn't include Youk and Beckham because they were the two players who I did not think have good years. Konerko was 36, so what? Still put up good numbers. Dunn hit .204, but had 41 HRs and drew 105 walks. That's what we signed him to do. -
And we know he can't play LF.

Don't know about his defense at third... and his hitting isn't even good anymore. 1 year of LaRoche > 3 years of Hanley

QUOTE (staxx @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) This. No need to mention more. Yup, I don't know why it's so hard for some to understand. Also, technically, got Tim Anderson out of it too. -

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 03:04 PM) No I meant 2012. AJ had hit the fountain of youth somehow and Rios had a fluke year. Other than that looks like garbage to me. Wasn't a fluke year for Rios, he's had multiple seasons like that. Pierzynski, Konerko, Ramirez, Viciedo, De Aza, Rios, and Dunn all had good years. How is that "terrible"? -

If this hasn't been mentioned, the shedding of 2012 salary/losing players for "nothing" were instrumental in netting us the funds to sign Abreu. -
I feel like the teams centered around "elite offenses" rarely succeed in the playoffs.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 09:12 PM) Kind of excited to see the Hawks play some 3 on 3 Yup, Kane/Panarin was fun with just 3 defenders

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) There's no reason to be a dick about anything. Just like anyone else in this thread, I'm brainstorming. I don't believe the Sox should try to compete next year, but I'm coming up with ideas for both sides. All of the guys I have listed have been rumored to be available or are FAs. So contribute something or shut the f*** up. First of all, I have contributed a lot to this thread. Secondly, do you honestly believe that we can get Cespedes, Gonzalez, Longoria, AND Wieters while somehow ridding of both Danks and LaRoche?? Come on. I'm sorry if my comment appeared rude, but I'm just saying that there's no way we can get those 4 players and get rid of Danks and LaRoche.

All I want is Instant Action... that was the best game mode in the old Battlefronts.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 09:24 PM) I'd personally go with Longoria, Cespedes and CarGo. I'd then sign Wieters on a one year deal. Find a way to dump LaRoche (possibly to the Pirates for nobody) and Danks (possibly to the Dodgers for nothing) Then turn off your PS4 and realize that this could never happen

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 03:51 PM) Thanks for the update Dr. Abreu. What did Buehrle say when you gave him this diagnosis? I'd say the facts that he got 4+ cortisone shots this year and completely faded since August would support my post.
-
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 02:07 PM) If Mark Buehrle is not hurt, and genuinely is interested in still pitching, it certainly is not time for him to retire. He pitched well enough to be a 4/5 starter on pretty much any team in the league this past season. He's gassed. His arm can't take it anymore.
-
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 02:54 PM) I haven't looked at Wieters stats but Id love to have him over Flowers. You might want to look at his stats. Specifically, games played in recent years.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 12:23 PM) Battlefront Beta downloading right now. It's a little under 8 GB, yet I have 15 more hours to wait!!! I hate my f***ing WiFi.. I tried downloading the Black Ops III beta whenever it came out (August?). The estimated time was 114 hours. And my WiFi is pretty good... sometimes I just don't understand PS4 downloads.

Earlier, "Go Cubs Go" was blasting at an extremely high volume 5 feet from me. On a loop. For 25 minutes. So that was nice. Then, I'm playing lacrosse, and during a break, this guy who was running on the track on the perimeter of the field stops, runs towards the field and at me, and says "Did you like that game last night? Are you a Cardinals fan now?" I haven't talked to this guy in 3 years. I guess that's the price I pay for being known as the diehard Sox fan. These were just 2 of 10+ instances of me having to take s*** today Please, Cardinals, sweep them.

One team that is a potential trade partner is the Diamondbacks. Like Colorado, they have offense- and a lot of it, and they need pitching. Off the top of my head, they have Goldschmidt, Pollock, Peralta, Inciarte, and Tomas. All of the above players had great offensive seasons- Tomas was average, but he has great potential and didn't get much playing time. Obviously, Goldschmidt and Pollock would be off limits- but could Peralta, Inciarte, or Tomas be acquired by us? Peralta (LF/RF) hit .312 with 17 HR, 78 RBI, and a .371 OBP. Fangraphs is blocked for me right now, but I believe he plays slightly below average defense. Tomas (RF/3B/LF/1B), like Abreu, signed to a 6/68.5 contract, only appeared in 118 games, but hit .273 with 9 homers and 48 RBIs. Lots of potential there. Inciarte (OF), my favorite of these three, hit .303 with 6 HR, 45 RBI, and 21 stolen bases. Reminds me of Eaton offensively but with a bit more speed fewer walks. He also plays elite defense. What would the price be for one of these three?

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 07:30 AM) Is it just me or does it seem like the Hawks have been screwed on very similar plays an inordinate amount of times the last couple years? Not just you. I've noticed it too.
