Jose Abreu

Viciedo signing makes more sense

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 1, 2015 -> 03:57 PM) Can anybody find the cumulative ERA of position players pitching? I swear it seems like they usually have shutout innings. David Ross had one last week too . I wouldn't say "usually". Leury Garcia and Adam Dunn have a cumulative ERA of 18, for example.

We should call Viciedo up, he kills the Yankees /sarcasm

Time to dust off the old jersey

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 1, 2015 -> 03:47 PM) Good, glad he is back. I assume Shuck will be going on the DL Shuck is on the DL

Missed Shuck's injury. Hope it's not serious.

Here's the first AB. http://m.mlb.com/video/v317986083/nyycws-l...?game_pk=415189

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 11:11 PM) Six runs and Sox lose. That's never a good sign. On almost any given night for us, we'd win easily with 6 runs. Our very good pitching failed us tonight.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 11:10 PM) You do realize that's not exactly a good ratio for a pitcher? It's not, but it's not horrible for a #5 starter.

Umpires just wanted to get home. 4 hour game, I get it, but kinda annoyed.

He looked safe on that...

LaRoche with 4 hits AND a scoreless inning pitched? His best game all year.

LaRoche is still laughing and smiling as he steps up to the plate. I've rarely seen him smile all year

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 11:00 PM) Maybe Adam can pitch for Danks instead. Maybe we can have Danks DH Here we go! *grabs popcorn*

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:59 PM) He said HIS season. Hard to argue really. Misread, my bad. I'd reluctantly agree, then.

QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:56 PM) Casper wells pitched p well too, I think. Forgot about that. He pitched a scoreless inning for us, but his career ERA is 27.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:54 PM) Dave LaRoche was his dad . Pitched with the Sox, Twins ,Angels among others if I'm remembering right. Knew his Dad was a pitcher, but didn't think of it tonight. Thanks for the reminder.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:53 PM) He was great. Funny and sad that the No. 1 highlight of his season so far is that. That last pitch was amazing. Yeah, this was good but I definitely wouldn't call it the #1 highlight of the season.

LaRoche K's Ryan He actually wasn't too bad. Best Sox position player pitching appearance in recent history. Certainly better than Dunn and L. Garcia. Hit 85, threw in a 62 MPH hook.

His speeds ranged from 62-85... actually wasn't that bad.

1. Adam LaRoche 2. Adam Dunn 3. Leury Garcia

At least our team's spirits have been lifted. Great managerial decision.

Swear it looks like Brendan Ryan struck out on purpose...

At least LaRoche pitches better than Dunn.

LaRoche with the 62 MPH curve!
