Official Buyers Thread
QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 12:56 PM) Jerry Crasnick @jcrasnick 1m1 minute ago #Braves are also fielding some calls on A.J. Pierzynski and Jonny Gomes. Battled-tested, stretch drive acquisition types. https://twitter.com/jcrasnick I'm not interested in Gomes...but AJ maybe. He's on a 1 year 2 million dollar deal. 1.3 offensive WAR player(.4 overall). I'd have interest in Pierzynski if this were last year. But not anymore. Flowers and Soto have done well this year. Combined 1.1 fWar.

Potential Bonafacio DL Stint
Part of me hopes Leury Garcia isn't called up to replace Bonifacio/in September so he can finish the season with the incredible 1.000 batting average.

Confirmed three-way trade
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) The Marlins are a f***ing joke. The Dodgers are flexing their big market muscles and just buying picks. Each year, the Marlins are rewarded a "Competitive Balance" pick and each year they trade it. LA will most likely just DFA Morse and take the financial hit. Morse would be a great fit to DH here. edit- nevermind, just looked at his stats

Geovany Soto
He's clearly a streaky hitter. From 4/15 to 5/28, these were his numbers: 10-58 (.172 AVG) 1 HR 6 RBI When he's on a hot streak like this, then I'm on board with giving him more starts. However, during his longer cold streaks, Flowers is obviously the better choice both offensively and defensively.

QUOTE (shysocks @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 12:33 PM) Feels super weird to be scoreboard watching, but holy **** here I am. Takes me back to the 2012 run.

LaRoche to sit out first two BOS games
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:56 AM) Is Abreu even feeling better? Yes, he said his finger has healed.

Starlin Castro and Jorge Soler not in line up for Cubs

You want crazy...
QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:41 AM) I do get the feeling that the Sox are going to pull off some crazy trade along these lines that will have us saying... Wow didnt see that one coming! Someone we probably havent even mentioned yet. Homer Bailey for Dye!

Samardzija Trade Packages
QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:11 AM) Jerry Crasnick @jcrasnick 3m3 minutes ago The #BlueJays continue to cast a wide net in starter search. Gallardo, Leake, Cashner, Ross, Fiers, Haren all on the radar. https://twitter.com/jcrasnick I asked him if Shark is off the market and he said not officially. But it's getting harder to see him traded everyday. That was you? I think Dan Hayes retweeted that.

LaRoche to sit out first two BOS games
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:39 AM) We could always, you know, put him on the DL... Last week it was "DL ABREU!" now it's "DL LAROCHE!"

White Sox will be buyers at the deadline
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:55 AM) I see this as a detroit writer shill trying to drive up the "Price point" IMO That's what I thought, too.

White Sox will be buyers at the deadline
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) I'm kinda worried about trading in an attempt just to compete for a one-game road trip. If it's more about that AND adding for the 2016 team, then it would make more sense to buy now. Interesting times. But Sale would be starting that game. I like those odds.

LaRoche to sit out first two BOS games
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:01 AM) Yeah, I saw nothing wrong with those comments. He's a competitor and wants to play and admits the rest was good for him but that his pride is hurt (because of his poor play, not because Robin sat him). I also think his hand is hurt and he's playing through it and his performance is suffering as a result (I might be completely wrong though). Why his hand? Where did you get that from?

Crazy Trade Deadline Predictions

Puig Possibility Ended...
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:09 AM) This is a horrible idea. Trade anyone not named Q, Rodon, or Fulmer for Puig and I'll be happy. There's no reason to move Q. So you'd trade Sale, Samardzija, Abreu, etc. for Puig?

Joe Thatcher
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:41 AM) No there isn't. He also had an effective long relief outing a week or so ago. Thatcher's strictly situational. Do not need. BTW, our bullpen's pretty good. You can never have enough bullpen arms. Keep in mind, Thatcher is a proven vet who can help all of our young relievers.

Official Buyers Thread
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:29 AM) I'm not giving away Erik Johnson at this point, it appears he figure it out and we will need a RHP to replace Shark after this season. I say ride it out with this lineup if you want to contend, if you want to sell, sell now. I love how I always read your posts 2-3 times very carefully to see if there are any hints about a potential trade
