Wild Card Watch 2015
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 04:12 PM) White Sox, Phillies, Braves trifecta tonight would be just swell. I'm already preparing myself for the overreaction the next time we lose. We've become too accustomed to winning and expecting to move up in the standings.

7/29 White Sox vs Red Sox 6:10 CT
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) Luckily we have a lot of ABs against Porcello so there is a good chance we can tag him for 4+ runs. Oh and by the way, Flowers is hitting .133 in 15 ABs against Porcello and Soto is 2-5 with a home run against him Because of course...

Confirmed three-way trade
Still no word on the 3rd team?

Potential Bonafacio DL Stint
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:41 PM) The same number he had right after he was optioned for the first time this season. Once you are sent to the minors the first time in a season, that burns one year's worth of options no matter how many times you go up and down the rest of the season. Didn't know that. Thanks.

QUOTE (shysocks @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:11 PM) McCutchen singled to right, Ishikawa scored, Decker to second, Decker to third McCutchen to second on throwing error by right fielder Rosario.McCutchen and Decker scored on error by third baseman Núñez. Can't wait to see that on the Not Top Ten.

*sigh* Here's another awful article...
Here's his explanation, guys. So he's saying make this trade before Sale gets injured. Ok, buddy.

Potential Bonafacio DL Stint
How many options does Leury have now?
-
Potential Bonafacio DL Stint
There goes that batting average. Unless he gets a hit in every AB?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:57 PM) Left handed batters and Jeremy Guthrie just don't mix Unless, of course, they're our left handed batters. Then they mix very, very well.

LMAO. Actually laughed. Not only is this the worst proposal ever, but we're also supposedly not selling anymore.

7/29 White Sox vs Red Sox 6:10 CT
Also, it'll probably be another 620-630 start. There's another Pedro Martinez retirement ceremony.

Official Buyers Thread
QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 12:56 PM) Jerry Crasnick @jcrasnick 1m1 minute ago #Braves are also fielding some calls on A.J. Pierzynski and Jonny Gomes. Battled-tested, stretch drive acquisition types. https://twitter.com/jcrasnick I'm not interested in Gomes...but AJ maybe. He's on a 1 year 2 million dollar deal. 1.3 offensive WAR player(.4 overall). I'd have interest in Pierzynski if this were last year. But not anymore. Flowers and Soto have done well this year. Combined 1.1 fWar.

Potential Bonafacio DL Stint
Part of me hopes Leury Garcia isn't called up to replace Bonifacio/in September so he can finish the season with the incredible 1.000 batting average.

Confirmed three-way trade
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) The Marlins are a f***ing joke. The Dodgers are flexing their big market muscles and just buying picks. Each year, the Marlins are rewarded a "Competitive Balance" pick and each year they trade it. LA will most likely just DFA Morse and take the financial hit. Morse would be a great fit to DH here. edit- nevermind, just looked at his stats

Geovany Soto
He's clearly a streaky hitter. From 4/15 to 5/28, these were his numbers: 10-58 (.172 AVG) 1 HR 6 RBI When he's on a hot streak like this, then I'm on board with giving him more starts. However, during his longer cold streaks, Flowers is obviously the better choice both offensively and defensively.

Post All Star Game Hitting Stats

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:56 AM) Is Abreu even feeling better? Yes, he said his finger has healed.
