  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 02:18 PM) A great question is how much do you think Scherzer would have gotten if he were on the FA market. No more than 5/125. I still think last year was a fluke and he'll return to his 11-11/3.80 ERA/3.75 run support this year.
  2. When I got this B/R update on my phone, I literally screamed of excitement. I don't know if the Subway employee enjoyed it.
  3. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 06:41 PM) Downs = end of career Linebrink. Scott Linebrink. There's a name I thought I'd never hear again.
  4. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 07:14 PM) It's likely to get ugly, early, for him at the Cell if he starts slowly. No one will enjoy that. That is what's inevitable. If we trade him, we're paying almost 100% of his salary.
  5. Also, how are guys like Zach Putnam and Blake Tekotte still there?
  6. Still waiting for the big 3B/IF backup battle as well as the De Aza/Viciedo/(Jor[Dan)ks] battle.
  7. Looks like Nieto has a real shot VS Hector. Also I find it encouraging that Micah Johnson is still up.
  8. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Mar 19, 2014 -> 11:03 AM) WHITE SOX MAKE SIX ROSTER MOVES FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, March 19, 2014 GLENDALE, Ariz. – Prior to today’s game vs. the Angels, the Chicago White Sox made the following six roster moves: · Optioned C Josh Phegley, RHP Andre Rienzo and LHP Eric Surkamp to Class AAA Charlotte; · Reassigned RHP Chris Beck, INF Andy Wilkins and RHP Cody Winiarski to minor-league camp. With the moves, the White Sox have 38 players remaining in major-league camp: 17 pitchers, three catchers, 12 infielders and six outfielders. Phegley, Rienzo, and Surkamp are surprising. How is Axelrod still up?
  9. OT: So is this our slogan? http://m.mlb.com/video/v31571201/white-sox...day-is-march-31
  10. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 18, 2014 -> 05:58 PM) Well, that's why we'd trade Viciedo. Tabata is 25 and already on an affordable extension. And is a plus defender. So he's better than all of our extras. OK, fine. We exchange an outfielder for an outfielder... problem solved!

  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 16, 2014 -> 08:41 PM) Right now, it's between Boggs/Cleto/Webb/Petricka/Rienzo for the last 2 spots. Give me Boggs and Webb.
  13. Scot Gregor @scotgregor Mar 14 Sox manager R Ventura said there's a heavy layer off frost, warning tracks are bad and the Sox' 3/30 home workout likely to be scrapped So we're scratching the 3/30 workout yet we plan on playing a real game on the same field the next day?
  14. Watch it on CSN at 9 CT. Commercial-free.
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 12:14 PM) So you're saying Chicago's going to end it too Oops. I guess so.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 10:51 AM) So after being destroyed by the Kings last night the 76ers streak as 18 games and their next 8 are vs Indiana, vs Memphis, at Indiana, vs Chicago, vs New York, at Chicago, at San Antonio, and at Houston. They are in decent shape to tie the Cavs 26 game losing streak with that schedule. A home game against Detroit would be for magic #27 if they do lose those 8. It's like the opposite of last year's Miami streak.
  17. If he's cut, I'll never forget when Earl attempted an end around in the Bears Packers NFC Championship Game with under a minute left.
  18. Yeah, Hixon and Willie Young are official. New KR and possibly no Earl Bennett after so many years.
  19. QUOTE (chisoxfan310 @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 09:41 PM) Semien and Davidson start in AAA, De Aza/Viciedo dealt with Danks making team as 4th OF, Gillaspie at third, Keppinger on DL, Garcia backup infielder. Its not that hard. And if Kepp isn't on DL, Garcia getting at bats in the outfield, infield, and random DH at bats in AAA. Not that hard. I think Davidson can start up in the bigs. Which one of De Aza/Viciedo gets dealt and to whom?
  20. I'm feeling really good about Micah Johnson. Just something about him.
  21. We're getting close to the season and I've said this 100 times but I hate it so I'll say it again. We have De Aza, Viciedo, and Jordan Danks (who's been killing it) battling for two spots. Then we have Gillaspie, Davidson, Semien, Keppinger, and L. Garcia battling for 1-2 spots. Just trade De Aza and one of Gillaspenger to make this easier.
  22. Jose Abreu- 8 Keon Barnum- 1 Rangel Ravelo- 0 Marcus Semien- 4 Micah Johnson- 6 Carlos Sanchez- 2 Leury Garcia- 3 Clelius Rondon- 1 Connor Gillaspie- 3.5- would have been more but in 2016 he injures his left leg chasing a tornado during the All-Star break (his hobby is tornado chasing) Matt Davidson- 5 Trey Michalzsewski- 0 Avisail Garcia- 6 Dayan Viciedo- 7 Adam Eaton- 6 Jordan Danks- 4 Jared Mitchell- 0 Trayce Thompson- 4 Keenyn Walker- 4 Adam Engel- 0 Jacob May- 0 --- Chris Sale- 8.5 Jose Quintana- 6 Erik Johnson- 6 Chris Beck- 4 Scott Snodgress- 3 Daniel Webb- 4 Nate Jones- 5
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 10:28 AM) Keith Law was at the White Sox game yesterday and these were his observations: http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/keith-law/post?id=2001 GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Chicago White Sox signed Cuban first baseman Jose Abreu to a six-year, $68 million contract with some expectation that he'd be in their lineup this year, the sooner the better given the size of the investment. Given what I saw from him on Tuesday afternoon at Camelback Ranch, I think they had good cause for such optimism, as Abreu looks like he can really hit... No love for Garcia eh?
