Jose Abreu

I think Miami having Fernandez and Tanaka would be incredible. Wait, nevermind, I think Chicago having Sale and Tanaka would be incredible.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 05:38 PM) Considering it's the max you can bid, it would. Another team could max bid...

I think that some of us are undervaluing the Abreu signing. That was a MAJOR move that was probably the biggest signing we'll make.

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 05:03 PM) I think the Mariners packages would have to be Walker, Seager, Paxton, and then something like Tyler Marlette. Also could do a change of scenery swap of Beckham and Ackley in the deal. Let's take Jesus Montero, too

I'm only shipping Sale to AZ if we're getting AT LEAST Eaton, Davidson, Bradley, and we give up Dunn or Keppinger as well.

QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 04:18 PM) Off the top of my head I think only Arizona has the over all combination of prospects the Sox would seek. Any talks would start with Bradley or most likely forget it. I'm sure others here can name some teams and their aspects but AZ is the one team that could be a realistic trade partner. They have several top 100 prospects but they have Corbin, now, so they would be less interested in Sale (theoretically).

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 04:16 PM) Yes I know. I mean "Garcia or Keppinger" as in one or the other, not as in getting one of those two playing time while they are both on the roster. I just don't know who is going to be on the roster on April 1st or whenever Opening Day is. Also, by want a day off, I meant is tired and will physically be unable to perform to the best of his ability due to the constant playing. They will insist to the manager that they're fine, but the manager will know better.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) You can't carry all 3 of those on the roster. Exactly my point.

I still think everyone's getting overpaid. Ellsbury, Nolasco, Peroida, McCann... now Granderson will join that group

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 11:25 AM) If Abreu is hitting, he's going to be on the field. Keeping this theme, having Konerko on the bench essentially screws us. Now we only have room for a backup catcher, one outfielder, and one infielder (unless we drop a pitcher [unlikely]). I think we have to trade Dunn because during long, 15 day/15 game stretches, players who want a day off will not get one because they don't have a backup.

Hoping for a wave of rumors tomorrow

Who was your favorite MLB player growing up?

I think we need to make some trade. Whether we dump Dunn or Keppinger, although Dunn would be hard to do... just something.

I think he'll want more than 180 mil

I'd still be happy with Granderson

QUOTE (midway @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 04:26 PM) OMG...even the Astros are busy getting Dexter Fowler.....didn't we need a CF!!! This is depressing watching everyone else doing something...THE ASTROS, let's get going Hahn!!!! At least Salty's still there... oh wait there he goes! (Miami)

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 08:31 PM) @scottmerkin: White Sox also have re-signed Hector Gimenez to a Minor League deal He actually wasn't terrible up in the bigs

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 08:31 PM) De Aza, Beckham, Viciedo, Flowers all tendered , Axlerod non-tendered. source?

Dan Hayes provides hope: No guarantee #WhiteSox start season w/ Flowers/Phegley at C. It's Dec. 2. But club won't write them off, either. http://bit.ly/1g0WRKd

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 08:04 PM) In other news...Colleen Kane ‏@ChiTribKane 1m White Sox won't tender a contract to pitcher Dylan Axelrod. Good.

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 07:59 PM) I don't know who this guy on Twitter is and I also don't know what thread to put it in, so here: Brian Madsen ‏@brianm731 3m Flowers re-signs. Paulie just made up his mind. He gone. #whitesox He's probably just some kid

Dan Hayes: "Rick Hahn at GM meetings said #WhiteSox are hesitant to write off Tyler Flowers and Josh Phegley. Believe both can reach their upside."

https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/407687161451122688 "Source: Tyler Flowers re-signs with #White Sox, one year, $950,000."

1/950k per Ken Rosenthal

We have to make a decision on Flowers tonight, right?
