  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 04:16 PM) Yes I know. I mean "Garcia or Keppinger" as in one or the other, not as in getting one of those two playing time while they are both on the roster. I just don't know who is going to be on the roster on April 1st or whenever Opening Day is. Also, by want a day off, I meant is tired and will physically be unable to perform to the best of his ability due to the constant playing. They will insist to the manager that they're fine, but the manager will know better.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) You can't carry all 3 of those on the roster. Exactly my point.
  3. I still think everyone's getting overpaid. Ellsbury, Nolasco, Peroida, McCann... now Granderson will join that group
  4. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 11:25 AM) If Abreu is hitting, he's going to be on the field. Keeping this theme, having Konerko on the bench essentially screws us. Now we only have room for a backup catcher, one outfielder, and one infielder (unless we drop a pitcher [unlikely]). I think we have to trade Dunn because during long, 15 day/15 game stretches, players who want a day off will not get one because they don't have a backup.
  5. Hoping for a wave of rumors tomorrow
  6. Who was your favorite MLB player growing up?
  7. I think we need to make some trade. Whether we dump Dunn or Keppinger, although Dunn would be hard to do... just something.
  8. I think he'll want more than 180 mil
  9. I'd still be happy with Granderson
  10. QUOTE (midway @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 04:26 PM) OMG...even the Astros are busy getting Dexter Fowler.....didn't we need a CF!!! This is depressing watching everyone else doing something...THE ASTROS, let's get going Hahn!!!! At least Salty's still there... oh wait there he goes! (Miami)
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 08:31 PM) @scottmerkin: White Sox also have re-signed Hector Gimenez to a Minor League deal He actually wasn't terrible up in the bigs
  12. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 08:31 PM) De Aza, Beckham, Viciedo, Flowers all tendered , Axlerod non-tendered. source?
  13. Dan Hayes provides hope: No guarantee #WhiteSox start season w/ Flowers/Phegley at C. It's Dec. 2. But club won't write them off, either. http://bit.ly/1g0WRKd
  14. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 08:04 PM) In other news...Colleen Kane ‏@ChiTribKane 1m White Sox won't tender a contract to pitcher Dylan Axelrod. Good.
  15. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 07:59 PM) I don't know who this guy on Twitter is and I also don't know what thread to put it in, so here: Brian Madsen ‏@brianm731 3m Flowers re-signs. Paulie just made up his mind. He gone. #whitesox He's probably just some kid
  16. Dan Hayes: "Rick Hahn at GM meetings said #WhiteSox are hesitant to write off Tyler Flowers and Josh Phegley. Believe both can reach their upside."
  17. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/407687161451122688 "Source: Tyler Flowers re-signs with #White Sox, one year, $950,000."
  18. 1/950k per Ken Rosenthal
  19. We have to make a decision on Flowers tonight, right?
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 04:37 PM) Pitching half of your games in that stadium, that is probably pretty misleading. Actually, Target Field only barely favored hitters. http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/parkfactor/_/order/false
  21. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 04:35 PM) JPA is not a .230 hitter. He holds the worst approach in all of baseball. I know. What I meant is we have too many players who hit .230 or under as is.
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 04:24 PM) Yes, that's exactly my point. They both blow. There's no need to replace Flowers with Flowers, just as the Blue Jays believe that there is no need to replace Arencibia with Arencibia. At this point, keep the devil you know ORRRR get rid of Flowers and don't ever, ever, ever talk to Arencibia. But if we got JPA for practically nothing, would you want him? Sure, he and Flowers both have terrible averages, but Arencibia produces more runs.
  23. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 04:21 PM) He actually pitched pretty good against the Sox(who didnt?) http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/...t=p#oppon_extra Maybe I had him confused with Mike Pelfrey.
  24. Arencibia's 162 game averages- .212, 27/82, OBP of .258 Flowers' 162 game averages- .200, 19/45, OBP of .279
  25. I'd usually say that we don't need another .230 or below hitter, but he'd be replacing Phlowers. If we don't give much up, I wouldn't be opposed to it.
