  1. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 11:12 PM) Getting Franklin from Seattle for something centered around Dunn and Santiago is wishful thinking right? For Dunn AND Santiago, I think it's a possibility
  2. Now that the Yankees have Beltran, Ellsbury, Wells, Gardner, and Soriano, they'll probably make a trade. I'll gladly take Brett Gardner off their hands.
  3. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 04:06 PM) You would have to get someone with ace potential in return. It is a gamble, but you plug a lot of other holes by making that gamble. Right, but that someone would probably not come up right away, leaving what I said as our 2014/15 rotation
  4. I still don't like how our rotation would look if Sale were traded. I wouldn't want Jose Q as a #1. Same goes for Danks, Santiago, and Johnson.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 10:34 PM) Now I know why u guys didn't like my haiku format of posting when I used to do that. It seems kind of weird to see my haiku format in print. This is a haiku. Five then seven syllables. That was a haiku.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 10:34 PM) Now I know why u guys didn't like my haiku format of posting when I used to do that. It seems kind of weird to see my haiku format in print. That wasn't a haiku, though.
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 08:31 PM) And "some" people are stupid QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 09:25 PM) That's just silly. Well tell that to them. I'm with you guys but I've been attacked on this board by people who think that way.
  8. Have we forgotten about the promising arm of Kevin Vance?
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 08:39 PM) Furthermore, Belisario was frequently tardy to the clubhouse on days of games, particularly when the start time was early. http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgersnow/l...y#ixzz2metKkOtD So they're saying he was a"flake". I mean whatever this isn't the NBA. We have 25 players, we can afford for one to be a "flake". Right?
  10. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 08:00 PM) That is the biggest signing we make. Biggest in terms of cash, yes, however some may view a "bigger name" signing like Granderson to be more important than Abreu.
  11. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 08:03 PM) I hope we trade Reed now. Who would you want to close, then?
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 07:37 PM) Seems to me like one of the righty relievers is going to get dealt now. (Starts fantasizing) In a package deal including Santiago and Dunn to the Diamondbacks for Davidson and Eaton...
  13. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 07:31 PM) Per MLB Trade Rumors, here are your LHP relievers with age. Please tell me who you would like to sign: Travis Blackley (31) Scott Downs (38) Mike Gonzalez (36) Rich Hill (34) J.P. Howell (31) Boone Logan (29) Jose Mijares (29) Eric O'Flaherty (29) Oliver Perez (32) Matt Thornton (37) I think it's a little early to worry about handedness in the pen. Give me either O'Flaherty or Logan for 2 years.
  14. We now don't need any bullpen righties. But our bullpen lefty "ace" right now is still David Purcey.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 07:07 PM) His career behind the plate is ova. Then maybe he can DH once Konerko and Dunn are gone next year.
  16. I think Miami having Fernandez and Tanaka would be incredible. Wait, nevermind, I think Chicago having Sale and Tanaka would be incredible.
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 05:38 PM) Considering it's the max you can bid, it would. Another team could max bid...
  18. I think that some of us are undervaluing the Abreu signing. That was a MAJOR move that was probably the biggest signing we'll make.
  19. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 05:03 PM) I think the Mariners packages would have to be Walker, Seager, Paxton, and then something like Tyler Marlette. Also could do a change of scenery swap of Beckham and Ackley in the deal. Let's take Jesus Montero, too
  20. I'm only shipping Sale to AZ if we're getting AT LEAST Eaton, Davidson, Bradley, and we give up Dunn or Keppinger as well.
  21. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 04:18 PM) Off the top of my head I think only Arizona has the over all combination of prospects the Sox would seek. Any talks would start with Bradley or most likely forget it. I'm sure others here can name some teams and their aspects but AZ is the one team that could be a realistic trade partner. They have several top 100 prospects but they have Corbin, now, so they would be less interested in Sale (theoretically).
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 04:16 PM) Yes I know. I mean "Garcia or Keppinger" as in one or the other, not as in getting one of those two playing time while they are both on the roster. I just don't know who is going to be on the roster on April 1st or whenever Opening Day is. Also, by want a day off, I meant is tired and will physically be unable to perform to the best of his ability due to the constant playing. They will insist to the manager that they're fine, but the manager will know better.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) You can't carry all 3 of those on the roster. Exactly my point.
  24. I still think everyone's getting overpaid. Ellsbury, Nolasco, Peroida, McCann... now Granderson will join that group
