Soria traded for Kodi Medeiros and Wilber Perez.
I hope so for his sake.

Soria traded for Kodi Medeiros and Wilber Perez.
Somewhere out there Wilber Perez just said " oh fuck I have to pitch for that team now? They suck!"

Escape from LA game thread
Cheeky thread title, too bad the movie sucked so badly. Go White Sox!

Can always count on Volstad to stink the joint up like a fresh turd on a hot humid day.

Seunghwan Oh to be Traded Soon?
Nobody is going to overpay for Abreu with the struggles Abreu has had over the last month or more. On the flipside of that Ian Desmond has been hitting well for the last month so I doubt the Rockies have interest in Abreu.

Trade Proposals
Yeah man, the Sox have not had any luck developing a third baseman. Imagine the defense we might have seen from third base this year if not for Yolmer's versatility. Yikes. I prefer to keep Yolmer at least until the Sox develop, sign or trade for a third baseman and then have Yolmer as the utility infielder.
-
Trade Proposals
I disagree. Without Yolmer playing third we'd be looking former third baseman like Davidson, Delmonico or Skole playing the hot corner. No thanks to all three. The next best option after Yolmer is Jose Rondon who's bat isn't suited for third either. Yolmer has plenty of value to the Sox at third base.
-
Trade Proposals
Yeah I wouldn't expect a big return though I think Yolmer could snag a back of the top 100 prospect. I think it's likely the Sox value Yolmer more than another team would. I would take a decent offer for Leury since the outfield is crowded anyway.

7/24 Games
I think he's holding his own quite well in Birmingham since moving up from WS. Especially for being just 21.
-
Trade Proposals
Lol I only said there should be interest. Both are switch hitters with Yolmer capable of playing second, short and third while Leury can play all three outfield positions. Not saying they will be traded and not sure what their value would be, but I'd bet teams are interested.

Trade Proposals
That's the two teams I had in mind as well.

Trade Proposals
I have my doubts on Abreu and Avi being traded, both are buy low candidates. Soria, Shields, Avilan and maybe Cedeno should be interesting pitching options for contenders. Same with Fry if the Sox are willing to trade him. There should be interest in Leury and Yolmer as well due to their versatility.

Fulmer's New Bullpen Role
Two things. 1) Fulmer is a pitcher, Moncada is a hitter. Apples and oranges. 2) Fulmer was never the high level prospect Moncada was. Many scouts speculated Fulmer would end up a reliever and the Sox took a chance and tried him as a starter. It didn't work out so they have moved on. Many of us fans trust the Sox when it comes to pitching so why question this move?

HOU interested in Abreu/Britton
Yeah I was just being silly. You're right though, Houston could be interested and same with the Braves. I know Britton is a lefty but with his injury problems this year and his high walk rate, the Sox might be able to land a better deal for Soria than what Baltimore got for Britton. This is very encouraging.

Someone get Madrigal a rain coat and a row boat FFS!

Trade Proposals
Think I would take that deal and run. It's not a bad proposal from bleacher report, which surprises me.

7/24 Games
Tilson 1-2 R , call him up! Lamarre 1-2 2B RBI , call him up! Eloy 0-2 , bust!

Trade Proposals
I think contenders are calling around to get an idea of what the going rates are for the sellers. Plus it's not like the four pitchers I named are hot commodities. They are trade worthy but not necessarily the best pitching options out there on the trade market. This has to be the craziest time of year in baseball for contenders and sellers. Can you imagine all the deals being discussed behind the scenes that we don't hear about?
