I remember Smith doing a good job behind the plate last year but he seems to be even better now. Or Narvaez/Castillo are making him look better.

Agree, I think he's gone when Castillo returns. Smith really looks like he's much better at reading the hitter and calling the next pitch accordingly. Much better than Narvaez and Castillo.

Is it just me or does it look like more pitchers just than Giolito like pitching to Smith? As far as I'm concerned Smith can start every game behind the plate.

Yeah, especially an increase with velocity and movement. He really is a different guy now. I'm happy to say I was just as wrong about Covey as anyone else.

In your defense, last year Covey wasn't sinking, tailing and cutting his fastball. At least not that I recall. Plus he's had an increase in velocity.
