Yeah nothing special to choose from for RHH outfielders. I like the idea of trying to build his value as a RF. I'm not saying Joc would have the same results but look what a move from CF to RF did for Eaton's value.

And if Joc is in CF with Jay on the bench, does that put Engel in RF? That doesn't make sense.

Good point about Pederson in CF. If the Sox acquire Pederson I'm thinking it's to put him in RF with Cordell or Leury as potential platoon partners. That leaves Engel/Jay platoon in CF. As long as Jay can still get good jumps he should be fine playing CF in a platoon role.

Fair point about Abreu. Still don't think Pollock getting 17M annually is that much of a stretch. Though I sure as hell wouldn't pay him that. Harper's next contract is going to raise the bar for outfielders and Pollock will benefit from it. I think it's why he hasn't signed yet.

Abreu just got 16M for the 2019 season. Pollock shouldn't have a problem getting at least that annually. But I agree it won't take 5 years to get him. I think he gets 3 for sure and maybe even 4. Hard to gage his market with teams waiting for Machado and Harper to sign. Man, once Machado and Harper sign there should be a flurry of signings and tons to talk about.

I've been critical of Dave in the past but people need to understand he's not in an enviable position. No doubt he wants to spread what he hears but if he speaks to soon or shares too much of the details he runs the risk of losing his source.

Abreu for Pederson isn't a bad trade idea for a starting point. Think Pederson has more value but add Hill into the mix and it doesn't sound too crazy.

I hear ya and know you aren't knocking him. I actually like his hit tool from the standpoint that he's so young and playing AA while holding his own.
