  1. Sale Cruising and already has 6 K's but so is Kazmir.
  2. Noah threw out the first pitch, so there's that lol

  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 01:32 PM) And to be clear, i'm not saying the Bears should have kept McCown in favor of not re-signing Cutler. I'm just saying people need to stop with this "hope" nonsense that he's going to become some player he's not. He has good games, he has bad games. And rarely if ever are the good games against good teams. Perfectly said
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 11:28 AM) I am skeptical until I see differently. The couple of places that have large transient populations have had hard times drawing fans because they don't have a real solid base. Places like Miami, Tampa, and Phoenix come to mind. Maybe being Vegas's first team it will work, but who knows. I honestly think the best possible expansion city is on there which is Seattle. It's just a great sports town IMO
  6. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 12:27 AM) Would love to see the Nordiques have a team again. Lindros would not approve
  7. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Aug 22, 2014 -> 01:38 PM) Is bellysorryass gone after this season? He's lucky he's not gone by now.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 22, 2014 -> 09:28 AM) Not really. Usual close to the vest type stuff. He actually said people had already paid for their September tickets, like there was an expectation of seeing Adam Dunn, lol. Of course, it was measured by the usual, we have a responsibility to field a competitive team...games affecting the playoff race/s mumbo jumbo along with opening up at-bats for younger players yadda yadda. Wouldn't commit to Rodon coming up in September. Said it would get at least 3 starts in Charlotte. Said he was more refined/advanced than even they projected when the pick was made, etc. Pretty conservative stuff, ok. Thanks!
  9. anybody catch the Hahn interview on the score earlier? anything interesting said?
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 15, 2014 -> 11:10 PM) Speaking of 1st round draft picks, Kyle Beach just signed a contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg. Enjoy Austria buddy. Beach in Austria. Jimmy Hayes on a team that plays like they belong in Austria. Top two picks busted. At least Ben Smith saved the 08 draft from being a complete wash.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 15, 2014 -> 09:45 AM) Love baseball but I'd stop watching MLB as I'd feel betrayed. I have the same sentiments. I would still follow the sox but i would stop caring sooner rather than later. I'd probably end up following my 2nd favorite team (the Cards) more casually than the removed Sox, but MLB would definitely move far out of my sight for a while.
  12. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 12:19 PM) padmapper.com It takes listings from craigslist, apartments.com, and some other sites and puts them on a map for you. Thanks bud
  13. Does anybody recommend a website to look for apartments around chicagoland?
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 11:47 AM) I am curious if Manziel will have the work ethic required to succeed as a QB in the NFL. He is no longer going to be able to drop back and dance around for 3 minutes and wing it into the endzone, he will get killed. He very obviously has the skills required, though Exactly my thoughts on why I have real doubts of him having sustained success in the NFL, he's a true wildcard but a very intriguing one cuz the kid can throw but all depends on his work ethic and dedication. He should just hang out with tim tebow and train with him lol dude isn't a very good QB but his work ethic seemed legit.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 11:16 AM) They took Pacers to 7 games. They aren't a great team, but, like Don Nelson's GS teams, they could play a spoiler against a vulnerable opponent. True, the pacers were a pretty vulnerable opponent, as were the Bulls with the Wiz.
  16. QUOTE (Boogua @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 07:41 AM) I feel like if he has anything left in the tank that the Browns would likely overpay for him. Their WR situation is pretty awful. To go along with their bad QB situation. I hope Hoyer works out for them he looked good in his small sample last year before he got injured, because I don't believe in "johnny football" being a franchise QB.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 09:22 AM) It wouldn't surprise me either if Atlanta did. But Gortat and Nene put on a pretty good show in playoffs and would be a matchup problem for Cleveland if they are on. Atlanta's shooting, if hot, is a terrifying playoff team. Although I agree, I've said the same thing the past 3-4 years and every year Atlanta just flops in the playoffs, so until they can prove to shoot hot when it counts, I'm not too worried about them. Wizards aren't dominating but they got hot at the right moment so i'd still be cautious with them.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 01:59 PM) The Yankees are one game out of the 2nd wild card and are always in win-now mode. Why would they give up their best LH reliever just to save $4 million? to open a roster spot for John Danks.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 01:48 PM) Yep; Evidently no one in the AL put a claim in on him. I don't really get it. He's been extremely effective out of the pen this year and $3.5M next year for him doesn't seem that bad. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 01:48 PM) No, it goes by league first and then record. If Nats won the claim on him then no AL team claimed him. crazy. Detroit's pen is terrible and KC signed Downs yet neither of these teams claimed Thornton lol.
  20. Does the waver wire award a player based on worst record AND league? As in, did it take that nobody in the AL claimed him or is it different from the normal DFA situation?
  21. QUOTE (shysocks @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 01:35 PM) On a minor league deal, with Nathan and Soria broken, might as well give it a shot
