  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 07:32 PM) Rodon with 11 of the first 13 outs by way of the K. He's now got to be THE pick and a game of chicken begins with the Marlins, Astros and White Sox, with Hoffman on the shelf. I'd be elated if we got him and signed him.
  2. Nice to see Abreu hitting the slider down and away. Seems like he has been swinging and missing a lot on it
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 07:24 PM) Yordano Ventura has an electric arm, 94-98 MPH in the first inning, absolutely blew away Chris Davis. For those with MLB.com subscriptions, Orioles/Royals free game of the day. Control is going to be the ONE issue...Nolan Ryan said he's the real deal, and he's got a curve on a 60/80 scale already. I've watched him. He's like. Verlander with his mph fastball and his curve and how he can change speeds.
  4. @Tommy_the_V: Tommy Hanson has been sharp tonight. No runs, no hits through four innings. He's fanned six batters. #CLTKnights with a 3-0 lead, bot 4.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 07:20 PM) Are CS percentages higher these days than 4 or 5 years ago? It seems to me whether it is the White Sox or other games I watch, runners seem to be getting gunned down far more often. Seems like Flowers is sharp this year. I don't know his throwing runners out rate last year.
  6. @JJStankevitz: Hector Noesi will throw for Don Cooper tomorrow and the Sox will make a decision on him after. Rick Hahn says they like his upside.
  7. Meh, if you throw enough s*** at the wall it's bound to stick right? The thing I like is they're constantly looking to improve.
  8. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 07:52 AM) I'll be watching it, too. And I'm also a Pens fan...being originally from Pittsburgh. Note the "pitts" in my user name. Ha, cool. Hope the Sox get the W and fleury doesn't act like an idiot when it counts.
  9. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 10:01 PM) I never saw anyone put a 1st round projection on him. BA had him ranked around #150 prior to the draft, which would have made him a late 4th/early 5th round prospect. If he hadn't had surgery and missed two months of the season his draft year then he probably would have gone much higher than the 9th round, and could have possibly been a top #100 draft prospect or better. It does actually say a lot that BA ranked him that highly despite him hitting .225/.303/.388, 8BB, 22SO as a junior. I heard it on a white sox podcast. Think it was with Rongey and Dan Hayes. But not sure And Davidsons only like 23. Not panicking yet.
  10. I'll be watching this one tonight. Could care less about the bulls and their scoring deficiencies. I'm also a Pens fan.
  11. I've heard Micah was a legit 1st round prospect until he got injured.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 08:22 PM) It has to be a thrill for him. For us, it will be lucky if he is better than Leesman. He just has to avoid the one bad inning.

  14. I'm gona look up a scouting report on him
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 07:38 AM) If you have ever been there, you would see someone did a really good job of doing exactly that. I'm from Toledo, OH. So being about 50 miles from Detroit, I go to a lot of games when I go back home to visit. Ya someone f***ed Detroit alright. But nice ballpark.
