  1. We all hope he develops the power part of his game, without it he is pretty much a non-prospect at 1B. FYI this is his 12th HR in the Sox minor league system in 695 ABs.
  2. It's complete horseshit that Schwarber is given no repercussions for his words, his ejection was meaningless as the game was over, yet Tim Anderson is ejected from a tie game, and then suspended. Suspended for language, my ass.
  3. I don't think the Sox will bring him up this year due to the fact he has a grand total of 383 PA, including 198 above A ball, in the Sox minor league system. If he is brought up this year, it's due to the fact that he's hitting like this in AA & AAA.
  4. Hansen 2 IP 0 H 2 K. He did make an error. On the season 6 IP 0 H, 2 BB, 9 K. Please be fixed.
  5. Robert with a 2B, thrown out at 3rd trying to stretch it into a triple.
  6. Robert has had a multi hit game in 11 of the 13 games he's played so far.
  7. Yeah Steve Stone that is Jose Abreu now. 2 days in a row he could have taken an easy walk. Nope.
  8. No I would not be pissed at the KC player for hitting a HR and celebrating. I would be pissed that our pitcher gave up a 2 run HR. So this is fine from a 19-36 team in May of last year, but Tim Anderson celebrating and yelling at his teammates is not? Fuck the Royals.
  9. 3rd and 2nd and nobody out with your 3/4/5 hitters up down 1. Fail miserably
  10. Robert with a single and SB. Madrigal knocks him in with a single.
  11. Agree. It was more directed at the people who just simply don't like Madrigal for the reasons you stated. I appreciate the actual responses, like yours, with valid claims and concerns.
  12. I believe it was a fair trade for both teams. Frazier and Robertson were not worthless as he stated. They had value. Frazier was a fairly decent rental for 2/3 months for a team that missed the World Series by 1 game. Robertson was at $12.5 mill/year for 2 years for a reliever. There was a fairly limited market that would take on that contract for 2 years, especially for a guy whom most big market teams would use as a set up man, as they had their closers in place. He was also a pretty damn good set up man for the Yankees over the last 2 seasons. At the time (2017) Rutherford was ranked as a Top 50 prospect. It is true he was falling, and a lot of people had put Florial ahead of him based off of production. He then had a poor season with the Sox to finish 2017. In Pre-2018 he was a Top 100 prospect per MLB Pipeline (99) & MLB Prospectus (90). He hasn't had power develop yet. Last year was actually a pretty decent year for Rutherford in A+. His AA start has been poor to say the least, but it is only 36 PA. Fair assessment.
  13. I know it is a small sample size, but again his LD% is at 25.7% currently. The notion that all he does is have weak contact hits is complete bullshit spewed by people who don't like his profile, or that the Sox took him at #4 in the draft.
  14. They salary dumped Frazier (2 month rental) & Robertson off of a team that finished 67-95, and added in Tommy Kahnle who was having a career year and hasn't done anything since for a guy who was a 2016 1st Round Pick & Top 50 prospect (#37 MLB Pipeline, #45 Baseball America, #49 Baseball Prospectus) prior to the 2017 season. If the Sox traded a fairly good free agent to be player, a high priced closer (2 years $25 mill) with 2 years of control, and Jace Fry for Jarred Kelenic and a couple of meh prospects this year would you be upset? Kelenic was ranked #68, 56, and 63 prior to this season. Luis Robert was ranked #76, 40, and 45 prior to this season.
  15. Just curious how they all came for Madrigal. Were they all seeing eye singles, or dribblers that found a way through? Per Fangraphs his LD% prior to tonight's game was 22.6%, which was above the MLB average from 2002-14. After tonight (2 more line drives) it would be at 25.71%. Isn't that good?
