  1. What works for Buehrle doesn't necessarily work for Quintana. Quintana is a bit more measured and careful than most pitchers. Buehrle, for how good his control (esp the cutter) was, he was a bit reckless trying to get hitters to create outs. Quintana nibbles and bites and takes his time, I dont think he'd benefit from speeding things up--though I'm sure us fans would.
  2. Nice to see Albers lost some weight this offseason
  3. I dont think Frazier and Lawrie, both of whom will bel angling for extensions (possibly with the White Sox!) were willing to let it get out that they didn't like Drake. Rollins is probably out of f***s to give at this point in his career and gladly took "credit" for closing Clubhouse Daycare.
  4. Well they may have found an adequate batter at 3rd after nearly a decade lacking one... one thing at a time I suppose.
  5. Well that'll happen, at least they dont look completely anemic
  6. Is it just me or is Jose Quintana getting RUN SUPPORT? This is crazy!
  7. Eh Bassitt has to not walk Avila... Avila worked him to a full count last time around.
  8. I was excited about 1 and 2nd 1 out until I realized who was coming up to bat...
  9. We came dangerously close to our first Yaz of the season with Hawk referencing the '68 Red Sox.
  10. Eaton's a dope but he's a good ballplayer.
  11. Q operates differently than Sale. Also Sale only walked 1 batter yesterday.
  12. Semien will learn how to play defense eventually, Phegley may grow into being a good C and I'd rather have Bassitt than 2 guys we have currently in the rotation.
  13. I would take any one of the 4 we gave up for Samardzija individually in exchange for the draft pick we recieved. Maybe not Ravelo but the rest of them are all gonna be solid.
  14. It was a bad idea to trade Bassitt, Semien, Phegley and Ravelo for Samardzija.
  15. I dont notice too much of a difference between Midwestern weather on 4/4 as opposed to 4/11. The likelihood of garbage weather is about equal on both of those days. Really its only the upper Midwestern teams that play outdoors (CHW, CHC, CLE, MIN, PIT, DET) and maybe PIT and BOS that need to worry. The climate changes once you go about 150 miles south of Chicago... its 60 degrees almost every day in Cincinnati and StL now. I'm sure there's data to refute me somewhere out there.
  16. 9:05 first pitches are bad enough, starting the season with them is insulting.
  17. I cannot handle another bad year out of the bullpen, particularly closer. Please god anything but the closer losing us an inordinate amount of games.
