I sort of mis-phrased that, I wasn't referring to you but Getz.

The thing is that Getz can't call out the players and say they stink because he's going to try to trade some of these guys. I don't think Getz is stupid and has to see the same things we have seen all season.

ESPN ranked White Sox season #30 last in MLB with an F ranking.
If the season were to start today they might be as bad as the 1962 Mets who went 40-120, worst team in my lifetime.

9/26-28, Sox vs Diamondbacks series
So typical of these clowns.

ESPN is right on the money, the 1970 White Sox would beat the crap out of the 2023 White Sox. I hate this bunch so much that at 78 years old I’m willing to risk another rebuild so I don’t ever have to see most of the clowns on this poor excuse of a MLB team ever again in White Sox uniforms.

Just to make official, final score; DBacks 3 Sox 0.

9/26-28, Sox vs Diamondbacks series
They thought it was pretty good when they won 3 out of 4 from us.

Giolito's Decline
I hope you’re wrong too. None of the coaches should be brought back, wish Grifol was going to go too.

This Day In Sox History...September 27
The 1993 clincher was the last Sox game we attended before our move to Florida in December, since then we have been back a few times and have taken in 4 games, the last time was in 2011. We have taken in many games at Tropicana Field when the Sox visit Florida to play the Rays. Back to the 93 clincher, going to the game was a last minute decision and we wound up sitting in the last row of the upper deck before they chopped off 8 rows in 2004, that was row 29 and what a climb, felt like we were watching the game from the moon. Great night with fans staying an hour after the game singing and dancing in the aisles and the Sox coming out from the clubhouse and taking a victory lap around the field.

He might be a little better because he played the game, at least I hope so.

I think they go with a partial blowup, JR is too old for another major rebuild and I think he's going to open up the checkbook and sign some solid free agents while they rid themselves of some guys like TA, Eloy and a few others. I would like to see Clevinger come back and also Giolito, his heart is with the Sox and he wanted to spend the rest of his career on the Southside.

I think TA will get 14 million if the Sox pick up his option, let him walk and spend the money on signing a decent starting pitcher, we can put up with Andrus another year who at least plays like he cares and shows some life, Montgomery should be ready in 2025.

9/26-28, Sox vs Diamondbacks series
The 70s might have been a lot better but Melton hurt his back in 72 and was never the same player along with Carlos May who lost half his thumb in a military accident in 1970, he had a decent career but was never the power hitter like his brother Lee. Dick Allen was having issues in 74 and things started going south again and we stunk for the rest of the 70s except for the fun and exciting 1977 Hitmen team.

Roland Hemond and Chuck Tanner did a great job bringing the Sox back to respectability in 1971 and almost winning the division in 1972. I don’t think Getz can repeat what happened in the early 70s as we are in a different era contract wise, much harder to move players who have high paying long term contracts. JR is the guy who needs to step it up and start spending money on better free agents plus building up the farm system which is in shambles.

Just a horrible pitching staff and an embarrassment, I'm sure some other MLB teams have AAA teams with better pitching staffs than the Sox at the Major league level have right now. It will take a miracle if the Sox are contenders next year as JR and Getz think the Sox can be, the Sox roster is in the worst shape I've ever seen with just a few Major League players on the roster, even worse than the 1970 team.

Not really, the Guardians and Tigers are 10 games under .500 so 81 wins would probably win the pathetic Central division by 5 games.

Saint of Second Chances- New Netflix Doc
All I remember was him and his wife sitting in the bleachers at Wrigley Field after he sold the Sox. This article states what I posted earlier. https://interactive.wttw.com/playlist/2021/03/30/bill-veeck#:~:text=His chosen successor was rejected, never went to Comiskey again.

There was only one player on the 1959 team and World Series roster that Veeck brought in and that was Ted Kluzewski and though he had a great World Series he didn’t help much in the stretch run, again Veeck inherited that team much the way Reinsdorf inherited Michael Jordan and the Bulls. One thing I give Barnum Bill credit for is that he never set foot in Comiskey Park again after he realized what scum they were when he sold the team to in JR and EE.

There is no way that credit is to be given to Bill Veeck for the 1959 AL Champion White Sox, that team was built by Frank Lane and Chuck Comiskey, Veeck inherited that team when Dorothy sold her share of the Sox to Veeck in February of 1959, right before Spring Training.

Saint of Second Chances- New Netflix Doc
I won’t watch the documentary because I don't need to revisit Disco Demolition night along with never being a fan of Bill Veeck going back to 1959 when he bought controlling interest of the Sox from Dorothy Comiskey Rigney. It was a shame that Chuck Comiskey and his sister couldn’t come to some kind of agreement that would have kept the Sox under Comiskey family ownership. Eventually when free agency came around Chuck probably would have had to sell the club but being that he was a native Chicagoan and loved the Sox I’m sure he would have found owners that also loved Chicago and the White Sox. You have to wonder what would have happened to the franchise if all those things happened and Bill Veeck, the Allyn brothers, Veeck again and eventually JR had never come upon the scene.

9/24 White Sox + Rain = White Sox Winner over the Universally hated Red Sox aka Carmines aka Red Cubs
8-4 against the hated Red Sox and Yankees, pretty good except we were 3-16 against the rest of the East

9/24, Sox at Sawx, 12:35
I hate anything Boston so a series win would be great not to mention winning the season series.

Bard selects new Sox location
Of those 3 locations the United Center area would be the best and Soldier Field shouldn’t even be in the mix.

9/23 - It's a Bummer White Sox victory
We went to a game there back in 1978 and I’ve never understood the fascination with that stupid ballpark, some horrible sight lines, cramped seating and nothing beautiful about it, it’s old so I guess that makes it special, Wrigley Field is a much better ballpark.
-
9/23 - It's a Bummer White Sox victory
Nice victory today, I’m one who doesn’t want to see 100 losses. We’ve had enough embarrassment this year and losing 100 games is embarrassing as it gets.
