8/3 Sox @ Rangers, 1PM, NBCSN

That team was more fun to watch than this bunch. -
Something happened after the All Star break and the team hasn’t been the same since. I blame TLR.
-
I’ll be 78 soon, how do you think I feel.
-
Steve Stone who I’m sure is financially set and could care less if he was fired would be the perfect guy to call out the troubles with this organization including the manager and most of the players, what we’ve seen this year is an utter disgrace and beyond embarrassing.

Watching submarine races and grass grow is more fun and exciting than watching Sox games. -

Bring Giolito back. -
If it isn’t the Sox winning the division I couldn’t care less who wins it.
-
Good luck Jake, hope you hit 40 homers a year and drive in a ton of runs, I’ll be watching occasionally as I get the Marlins games in my area.
-
And we trade the one guy who came to play everyday.
-
Zavala is just a horrible hitter.
-
And we have watch him for another year and overpaying him to boot.

They have their work cut out for them to mend fences this off season. If they think they are going to be contenders in 2024, I’d love to know what their game plan is. It could be that they are delusional and maybe thinking that this was a fluke year with so many guys having down years and are going to bounce back with great years in 2024, good luck with that.

I’ve been a Sox fan for 7+ decades and I can’t remember feeling this bad about a guy being traded since they dealt Minnie Minoso to the Indians back in 1957. I felt bad when they traded Nellie Fox in 1964 but I understood that Little Nell was at the end of his career but Minnie wasn’t.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. This franchise has hit rock bottom.

This trade stinks.

Who the heck could the Sox even sign in FA next year?

I’m for that considering that Gio said he wanted to spend the rest of his career with the Sox. -

Not saying that at all, the Sox stink in everything related to pitching not just all the blown saves. They did have a lot of Ks but that is a mixed blessing because it means you are usually throwing more pitches which meant that our starters very seldom pitched over 5 innings, too many walks also. Of course the hitting was equally bad. It’s going to be interesting to see how they can improve as Hahn states they plan on contending in 2024 as there is no help from the Minor Leagues and it’s not the greatest year coming up for free agents. -

Sox are tied in most blown saves with Balt at 23, Minny has 21and Cleve. 22. Sox are lowest in the league in save percentage at 45%. For comparison the Red Sox lead the AL with a save percentage of 79% blowing only 8 saves. -
The Sox and Guards tied the series each with 2 wins, Cleveland won Thursday night and yesterday while the Sox won Friday and Saturday.

The 83 team from late May to the end of the season played the best baseball that I’ve ever seen by a Sox team, it felt like they were unbeatable and then came the playoffs with the Britt Burns game still giving me heartburn. How about the 2000 team? 975 runs scored, 216 homers, .286 BA and an .826 OPS

Attended the July 31,1977 DH, 50,000 on hand and when the Sox came back and won the first game the place went insane, I never heard the place as loud as that day, it was actually shaking all the way to the rafters. I’ve always wondered what would have happened if we won that second game but we didn’t and a week later the Royals swept us in KC and went on to take the division. Too bad for the Sox but 1977 was still one of the most fun years in White Sox history with the Southside Hitmen pounding the baseball like Sox fans had never seen before including 192 homers which IIRC broke the club record by 54. Billy Pierce was my second favorite White Sox player of all time and was a great person, it stinks he’s not in the Hall of Fame. Tears came to my eyes 8 years ago today when he passed

It’s sad when our starting corner outfielders have a total of 3 home runs.
