$75M = One of the worst White Sox LF Seasons
The Mighty Mite replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I’m giving Benintendi a pass this year because I don’t think his wrist is 100%, he has trouble pulling the ball and I’m sure it’s because of the wrist. That being said he’s not a big run producer that you want from a leftfielder, hopefully he’s 100% next year and he will probably give you 15 homers and 80 RBI while batting close to .300 with an OPS around .780. -

This team is so hard to watch, why do we torture ourselves. -

We haven’t had a game that mattered since early April. -
The pitching except for a couple guys was horrible, they were last in the AL in ERA, the offense in most categories was about middle of the pack, they were weak at first base and second base.
-
As I mentioned a few other times, the 1970 team which went 56-106 was a lot more fun to watch than the stiffs that make up the 2023 White Sox roster.

When Do the Sox Talk About a New Stadium??
The Mighty Mite replied to jasonxctf's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Chicago skyline is one of the best in the world but from 35th street you just don’t get the magnificence of it from that distance which is about 4.5 miles. Somewhere around Roosevelt road and Clark street would work, there are some abandoned railroad tracks just south of there. -
Literally between a rock and a hard place. Too bad Trayce can’t hit.
-
They have Sheets playing pretty deep to give him a better chance on long fly balls.

Someone said during the Yankee series that the Sox wouldn’t see a crowd of 30,000 the rest of the year, well 30K last night and more than that tonight.

What’s the latest on Robert and his pinkie finger?

Hard to answer, if the Sox draft you, what are your alternatives. It’s going to be interesting to see how Colson Montgomery progresses, hopefully the buffoons who manage and coach in the Sox minor league system don’t mess him up.

Our illustrious pitching out to straighten Kopech out, good luck. -

So frustrating watching Kopech pitch. -
My next door neighbor growing up in Rogers Park was famous amateur golfer Charles “Chick” Evans and I was lucky enough to be his personal caddie from summer of 1960 to early 1962. Despite us living down the street from the former Edgewater Country Club, Chick actually played most of his rounds at the Glenview Club on Golf road and his regular 4-some included Ray Schalk, very nice gentleman and he always got a kick that I was a White Sox fan.

Three Things for Pedro to Do to Avoid Career Suicide

In the long history of the game I’m sure its happened more than a few times. -

I’m sure the Royals would take him back. -

He needs to hand in his resignation right after Hahn hands in his. -
Vaughn did the right thing, first of all TA was staggering, any more punches and he would have been out for the count, a referee would have stopped the fight. Second If TA still had his senses and wanted to continue the fight, that could have led to who knows what and could have led to a longer suspension. To say that the team didn’t support TA is bull crap by Betts and Carroll, every member of the team came out of the dugout and bullpen to support TA and there was the usual pushing and shoving that you see in most baseball fights.

My boyhood heroes along with Billy Pierce and Minnie but Nellie was my favorite, first thing I checked in the Sox box scores was how many hits Nellie had.

I’m pretty sure I remember the original S I cover had both GOs circled for GO GO.

He has a damn good arm but seems like he’s not taking the right tracks to catching the baseball, just doesn’t seem real smooth on some plays. I’d play him every game the rest of the season and evaluate him then, he’s not going to get better sitting on the bench.
