  1. now can we find somebody to play center field? Singleton? Lance Johnson? somebody who can hit more than .143
  2. i, too, fear the Tigers. They've got speed, decent power, some vets. Shelton won't keep this up all season, but Pudge, Magglio and Dmtri can hit. I don't think Bonderman, Verlander and Maroth will keep this up for an entire season. But we have to stay healthy -- and get a bit more from Pods, BA and Uribe.
  3. send him down somewhere so he can pitch consistently and rebuild his confidence. he's not worth much to this team considering his inexperience and lack of command. A guy that young needs to pitch. I'm sure there is a USAir flight to Charlotte in the morning.
  4. Frank, for the record, was benched tonight in TwinkieTown. Chavez tried to give Frank credit for his hot start. As manager Ken Macha was having none of it, pointing out that Frank was hitting .080. And Carl Everett, for the record, is barely over .100.
  5. I'll look at the bright side: First one-run win of the seson.
  6. no inside fastballs to this guy. and no hangers.
  7. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) hes a rookie, relax They catch fly balls in AAA, too. he should have made the play. It was an error, not a double.
  8. Anderson broke back on Magglio's fly ball. misread the swing. came charging in. got there. dropped the ball after it hit his glove, about thigh high. should have been an error, definitely not a double.
  9. good thing for Crede and Uribe. They're the glue in the field, no question.
  10. couldn't we have traded pods or BAnderson for Thome. That was awful.
  11. monroe on crack. cmon Jose, hold 'em at one.
  12. borderline ball four. but the way Anderson is scuffling, he can't afford to take. And opposing pitchers know it. BA needs to battle through this. Thought he'd be more relaxed because he got to play in the pennant race last year. But he looks like he's trying wayyy too hard.
  13. at least he didn't whiff, right?
  14. zone him in, reel him inl lite him up
  15. 4-0 sac fly. let's at least get to five. Amazingly, that was the first error Detroit has made this season. Brian Anderson needs to shorten his stroke and start putting the ball in play. He's whiffing at a rate that would embarrass Borchard.
  16. What is Thome going to do when the weather gets warm and he's hitting at The Cell? PK -- getting locked in. mercy
  17. props to Jenks. that's the best he's looked since October. Nice win.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) Better players than pods have been sent to AAA to figure stuff out. And it would be more of an extended spring training kind of not permanent. AMEN!!! just give him a week to get things figured out and restore his confidence. he's hurting the team. lucky BMac, AJ and the boys bailed him out hell, if Detroit brings in a lefty, I'd pull him for Brian Anderson for defense and offense.
  19. helluva play by AJ. paging Jerry Owens. please report to left field until Pods gets his head out of his ass
  20. What happened to the guy who hit the homer off Lidge? ain't seen him this season.
  21. truth is, we're in the toughest division in baseball. can't afford to fall six or seven games behind at the end of april. Detroit much improved. Cleveland tough. Minnesota solid. KC better. we got to pick it up several notches.
  22. first pitch meatball curveball to monroe ugly.
  23. acccording to the radar gun on the tigers' network, Garcia just hit 93 and then 94 against Guillen. not sure if I believe that, but he is throwing harder than he did last week.
  24. Freddie hit 91 twice and 92 once with Pudge. first two batters he topped out at 89. Crede sensational play and throw, saving Pods from giving away a run with horses*** outfield play. Nice scoop by Paulie, too
