another starter who did OK in the pen: Gagne.

nightengale and KW are fairly tight, according to the grapevine. this has something to it. can the Dodgers also provide a CF?

Maroth out
Hate to see anybody get hurt. Just glad it wasn't one of our guys.

Carl Crawford
How about Rogowski, Owens and a pitcher. Tampa needs a first baseman to replace Travis Lee. Rogowski can hit (without power), command the strike zone and even run a little. throw in another pitching prospect and maybe Class A infielder.

Center Field Candidate
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) Young is better offensively than Anderson, but Anderson is better defensively. There's no doubt in my mind that Young would put up better offensive numbers in the majors if he got the ABs that Anderson has so far. Dan Pasqua would put up better numbers than Anderson. Or Jeff Abbott. Or Julio Ramirez.

how about bringing Dave Wills home and moving Farmer back where he belongs -- the second chair.

As the number one Chris Young booster around, it's my sad duty to report that he made it four homers in seven games last night. His seventh dinger. also doubled -- his 10th. also stole a base. Also walked. Going to be tough watch when this kid finally gets the call to Arizona.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) Everyone loves Joey Cora, but for every guy he sends home that makes it, another gets thrown out at third on a grounder. Was he signalling to stop? that's totally up to the runner -- a play you learn in Pony League. the coach is irrelevant. the runner saw where the ball was hit and that there was not a runner on first. some teams fine guys for mistakes that blatant. pooooor fundamentals. piss poor.

how many times have we seen base running that stupid the last week? inexcusable to have brain cramps like that.

go yankees. that's our best hope tonight. Sizemore -- a center fielder who can hit and run the bases. Amazing what a weapon that can be.

mack can't play CF every day. No range. up to Kenny Williams to fix the problem. and I predict he will. he won't let the ship go down with a cancer bat in CF.

getting something substantial would probably cost Broadway or Sweeney. we've already traded enough of the farm system away.

Lets take a stroll down memory lane...
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 31, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) I personally don't think BA being in the line-up is costing the White Sox wins. I think KW should use all his resources on the bullpen, but one CF who might be available at a reasonable price and could probably give you 2005 Aaron Rowand offensive production and has a decent glove is Gary Matthews Jr. Matthews would be fine. I doubt Texas would trade him, though, considering they believe they can win the division.

I don't see the problem with sending a guy who is hitting .164 to the minor leagues to fix his stroke and rebuild his confidence. It's June. The guy is not contributing. All I'm saying is send him to Charlotte -- the same place Crede, Rowand, McCarthy and others were sent to.

if you're hitting .164, you'd better be more like Top One. plus, can you imagine how badly folks would be dogging Crede or Dye or Iguchi if they were hitting .164? why do people give this kid so much slack? He's been horrible for two months. It's nearly June, time for serious baseball. It ain't working.

been a bunch of games when we could have used an extra run here or there, but we got nuthin from the bottom of the lineup. Chris Singleton could come out of the booth and give us more than Anderson -- and it would improve the radio broadcasts, too.

Amazing? now he's Jim Edmunds. sorry, but I haven't seen the evidence of that.

i'm making a list of all the games he has won for the Sox with his glove this season. It's a short list. None.

i'm out on Anderson for THIS SEASON. he can't keep playing the way he is. Wait until we play the NL teams in their parks. we have Uribe, Anderson, pitcher,. three outs. the fifth and sixth place hitters won't get anything to hit. pull the plug.

please. Anderson is hitting .164 with 2 doubles as we turn the calendar to June. He's unlikely to smell .200, much less .225 by September. he needs to take the next flight to Charlotte.
