  1. Obviously, Trammell thinks they have enough runs
  2. Paulie singled in the second
  3. I can't see us scoring more than 3 runs, so we'd better hold them here.
  4. The In or Out thread is still available.
  5. throw a freakin strike, Chump
  6. Carlos Guillen must have a .850 OBP against us. And I still don't like him for the bunt in the bottom of the ninth in Game Three of the 2000 Division Series. He was out of the batters' box.
  7. Thanks for the update. I just think that guys who can really run AND hit for power are valuable -- and fun to watch. I liked Cameron. If Young could be Cameron, I'd be thrilled. I think you're right about Young and football. I believe he is from Houston.
  8. we're going to have to force the action and be aggressive to score many runs tonight
  9. excellent and helpful list. The guy who is really starting to intrigue me is Chris Young. I realize he is only in low A ball. And he strikes out a bunch 105 in 334 at bats. But he sure seems to have that rare combination of power and speed. he's already got 19 homers, 23 doubles and 25 steals. Plus, his 53 walks are impressive, giving him an OBP of .376. Just looking at his numbers there seems to be a lot of potential there. Has anybody actually seen him play or know what the Sox think about his future?
  10. the enthusiasm level seems to have plunged from the twins' series.
  11. 1-2-3 in the first. scoring runs will be a problem in this series 'cause we won't hit many homers.
  12. It would also come into play if the 40-man is full. You couldn't add one of these guys unless you took another guy off the 40-man. That's unlikely. There has to be some serious bad blood between Wunsch and the team for him to be totally buried like this. Otherwise, it makes no sense.
  13. the primary strength is our system is outfielders. Borchard (some teams might still take a chance), Spidale, Anderson, Sweeney, Nanita, Brice, Chris Young and maybe King (second round pick last year). With Honel and Wing hurt, starting pitching is questionable. We're empty at catcher. And the infield prospects are several years away. In the last year we have traded away ... Hummel, Rupe, Webster, Francisco, Ring. Rauch, Majewski, Reed, Morse and probably a few more that I cannot remember. That's a bunch for any farm system to survive.
  14. wasn't Scott Sullivan picked up after the deadline last season? There is still time to make moves. It just gets trickier. Not a big Shiggy fan. First choice: The Cat
  15. The Year of the Cat sounds good to me. Hairston has a lot of spunk. Either one works.
  16. It's over because we've lost about 230 RBIs. with no replacements in sight. To think we're going to win without Maggs AND Frank is folly. The evidence of our problems on offense is too strong to overlook.
  17. last time I checked, Minnesota wasn't spending $80 million -- and they seem to win a game or two against us
  18. MUST WIN == HORRIBLE LOSS == TWINS CRUISE INTO OCTOBER
  19. We'll go to Comerica and SWEEP the Tigers four games.
  20. say goodnight, Gracie
  21. it's been quite the team effort -- today and every day Let's face facts: We're cooked without Maggs and Frank. And we ain't got Torii hunter breaking hearts in center field.
  22. So who can we dump at the trading deadline for prospects. Let me start the nominations: JoseJoseJose
  23. PASS OZZIE A FORK. WE'RE DONE
  24. Joe Borchard, Drew Henson is on Line One.
