8/2 vs NY Yankees
Wow, Alexei took a walk. EDIT: And immediately destroys any goodwill he just earned.

LaDunn strikes again.

Abreu killed that. Should have been a double if he didn't just kill his knee. Hope it's just temporary.

Wow, that looks painful. Hope Abreu's okay.

GT: White Sox (38-44) vs. Blue Jays (44-43) [1:10CT/2:10ET]
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) We hit into so many double plays, where does the offense rank in that? Bizarrely not as bad as it appears. 18th in wGDP (at -0.2), 17th in total GIDP (63). Total GIDP being low makes sense (need baserunners to hit into double plays), but I'd expect the sabermetric rating to be worse.

GT: White Sox (38-44) vs. Blue Jays (44-43) [1:10CT/2:10ET]
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 01:21 PM) What is the evidence to suggest this? It's not like he only pitched well at the trade deadline last year, and this year his peripherals have been pretty solid the whole season. He's 26th in WAR among starting pitchers in the MLB this season, hardly what I'd call anything close to "awful". He was way better with the Cubs than the A's, and has improved quite a bit (albeit with some shakeups) since a pretty lackluster April/May. I doubt it's intentional, and it could just be random, but it's been a frustrating ride.

Guess Jeff knows how to turn it on before the trade deadline. I really hope we don't sign him to a long-term contract, my guess is he'll be awful immediately after he has a good deal (if he even gets one).

So White Sox it hurts. Good game.

6/16 White Sox at Pirates
QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 06:44 PM) "Elite defense" It would also mess with Johnson's development to put him back in the majors after a brief spell in AAA.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 06:35 PM) Is that the Greek isle where they filmed Clash of the Titans, lol? A new breath mint patterned after Mentos?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) It wasn't a hit and run If it was, it means that Soto isn't taking signs, which opens another set of manager concerns. That being said, you're right --- probably was just a double play avoidance tactic.

Stupid call, should have been a dropped 3rd strike with a passed ball and Shuck on 1st. He walked him anyways, but watching the calls rack up against the Sox is awakening my inner meatball...

Sox and Hawks both winning 2-1 late. Let's see if both can keep the leads.

Incidentally, Boni just doubled the amount of pitches he's seen today.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) Sox think it is a sin to score via a leadoff walk. Maybe they're trying to spare the fans from the inevitable Hawk rant about the dreaded leadoff walk

That being said, I fully hope that I'm wrong.

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 09:04 PM) Is that what you want, an 0 for 3? Obviously not, but it's tough to be optimistic when you're watching an offense that advanced statistics suggest is less effective than a replacement-level AAA team.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 09:04 PM) Right man at the plate, huh? IDK if you know this but Gordon Beckham is truly one of the greatest players in White Sox history. It's not measured in statistics, or outcomes, or number of fastballs down the middle hit for sky-high pop ups, or really anything I can explain, but just trust me... I have a feeling about this. Can I get a lifelong position in the White Sox FO now?
