  1. But someone pointed out that there is a rule that they have to be active for at least 90 days otherwise they are eligible to be taken in the R5 the next season. So doing that doesn't really do anything it seems. Unless I read or understand that wrong.
  2. Shane Smith didn’t have TJ surgery the April before.
  3. Exactly. He’s allowed the GM to spend money to try to compete. The deals haven’t worked out. Does that fall more on the guy building the team?
  4. And worth pointing out that MiLB season still happens, except for players on 40-man rosters. I looked this up before because I was curious.
  5. He does. Unless I’m misunderstanding
  6. When did he have the TJ surgery?
  7. I think you have to have them on the roster for a certain amount of time though. Can’t just stash on IL all season or as long as you wish.
  8. I think we're risking the full thing here.
  9. Yeah, both would have to exist. No floor without a ceiling.
  10. Apparently he will be back
  11. That’s good (if true)
  12. I think they may sign a cheap RHH OF that can slide to the bench when Braden comes up. I'm not entirely certain they bring back Tauchman (either non-tender or tender then trade).
  13. I know we were talking about a wishful scenario, but it's more like their big FA signing is $1.6M than $160M. Maybe 3 times that amount at about $5M!
  14. True but I’m just correcting your claim that he’s still around. Because he’s not until otherwise.
  15. With a salary floor, comes a salary cap as well though.
  16. He elected free agency.
  17. Wait, you’re trying to use the Bears as an argument for why the Sox don’t suck or something?
  18. Legit pitching prospects usually aren't unprotected.
  19. I don't think Tito retired. I think he just took a break for his health.
  20. Wow. I can’t believe he played 5 more years than Crede.
  21. Yep. Just look at what Edwin Diaz and Tanner Scott received.
  22. Wow. There's a name I haven't heard in a long time. I just looked him up, I can't believe he played all the way until 2014. I would have guessed until pre-2010 for sure.
  23. Idiots. Clase especially since look at what dominant closers get in FA these days. Probably would have been traded to another contender like Dodgers or Mariners or someone too.
  24. Also worth pointing out that the free agency pool just isn’t that deep. I’ll spend the $160M on Bieber. What kind of deal is he getting. Just kind of confused what “spend big on one player for $160M” means. $150M, 6 year deal for Alonso? What else really?
