If he keeps hitting, no I don't think May/June of next year is crazy. Obviously, if he starts struggling as he moves up then you would re-think it but so far so great.

Yeah they could have probably kept him around a little longer if Vargas' issue was serious by IL'ing him and activating Workman but I guess he's expected to play Tuesday.

Yeah this. Sox don't pay for the Tigers to take him back. We technically gave up cash when we traded for him though (cash considerations).

Right. I think teams will definitely be interested but the Sox, overall, fumbled this. If only Hahn could have traded him 2 years ago when he traded like 8 other players at that deadline. Edit: I remember seeing the Sox asking price as "moon high" or "shooting for the moon." Forgot exactly what phrase was being thrown around but "moon" was definitely part of what the description for what they were asking for.

Honestly, if they somehow don't break the record the Sox set last year now (I think they will), it goes to show that the Sox should have pulled the plug on Grifol so much sooner last year.

I think they’ll carry 3 catchers until Thaiss is gone, unless they DFA Lee. Would be kinda tough having 3 C and 2 1B only though.
